I roll my eyes and get in the car. I look up at him as he hovers over my window.
“I’ll think about it.”
I tell him and leave him smiling like someone's kid who just got told they are going to Disney world.
I get home and unload the car; I walk in and call Liz.
“Hey Lilly, what's up?”
“I wanted to see if you wanted to come over for dinner you and Mare?”
“Hell yeah! We will be right over! What ya making?”
I laugh, Mary is always down for food, especially when I cook.
“I’m not sure yet, might make some butter chicken.”
I tell her and they get excited. About 20 minutes later they came through my front doors.
“It smells so good!”
I hear Liz say as they set down some more wine, I pick it up and eye it closely and put it in the fridge to chill.
“You won’t believe who I ran into at the store.”
“Who?”
Mary asks and I smile.
“Adonis.”
They both gasp
“No way!”
“What happened?”
I look at them turning my back to the food.
“Well, I accidentally called him the big bad wolf, and he teased me a bit. And had been asking me to dinner nonstop.”
I smile and the girls laugh, I tell them about how I felt when he got close to me and how he almost kissed me.
“I just I don’t know, I have a feeling about him, like he’s hiding something.”
I look to Mary, and she shrugs, I roll my eyes at them and laugh. Suddenly I smell something burning.
“Oh my god no!”
I say and run to turn off the stove. I swear I thought I had it on low.
“Dammit, now we don’t have any dinner!”
I say with disappointment in my voice. I heard my phone go off.
“Talk about perfect timing.”
I heard Liz say and read the message.
