Rolling my eyes, I kissed the top of her head. She hadn’t let go of that yet?
Sigh… I suppose I needed to work a little harder to earn her forgiveness.
“I know it was wrong to do that. Will me eating your sweet pussy for a few hours earn my forgiveness?”
Reverie raised her head again, giving me a wide-eyed look.
Then, much to my surprise, she smiled slightly.
“Maybe.”
Fuck, my dick jerked painfully. Was it hot in here?
I was so deeply in love with this girl. She was the perfect mix of innocence and temptress, and most importantly, she was mine. I sighed. It was time to get back on the subject.
“Nexus, you know he will be a true bond, and you’ll need his strength in the coming days.”
“Speak where the rest of us can hear. It’s rude to flaunt your ability to communicate with her in front of us poor fucks who aren’t bonded to her yet.” Zane spit out.
I flipped him off.
Reverie narrowed her eyes, “I won’t bond with anyone who doesn’t need or want me. I’m plenty strong enough with you four.”
She turned to Jet, “I value your friendship, but I don’t expect anything else.”
Jet moved closer, “It’s not that I don’t want you. Any man with a brain in his head would want to be with you. I have other commitments that I have to fulfill.” His voice sounded almost pleading.
I was stunned that he’d put that many sentences together.
Jet wasn’t known for his prose.
“I think it’s time we talk about those commitments.” I raised a brow at the big idiot.
Jet’s eyes widened the smallest amount, and if I hadn’t been watching him so closely, I would have missed it. He couldn’t have thought I would keep this from Reverie. She deserved to know what was holding him back.
“What commitments are we talking about? Do you already have a Nexus you’re involved with?” Reverie sounded hurt.
Iknewshe was already feeling the need to bond with him. It was going to suck when I had to kill him for hurting her.
“His ties to the human military.” Nathan blurted out.
What…the…fuck?
I need to keep a closer eye on my Faction brother. It seems that I’d underestimated him.
“What?” Reverie yelled.
“You son of a bitch. If you tell them anything about Reverie, I’ll kill you!” Zeke started in his direction.
“Fuck you. I haven’t told anyone anything about her. I’d never put her in danger.” Jet clenched his massive fists and motioned for Zeke to bring it on.
I raised my hands and froze them both where they stood.
“None of that nonsense. He hasn’t said anything to anyone. I’ve been monitoring his communications, and after his actions this morning, I don’t think his loyalty can be questioned.”
“What actions?” Reverie asked me, frowning at Zeke and Jet. I let them both go, and Jet slowly turned his head toward me.
“If you ever do that to me again, you’ll regret it.”
