I shook my head. That girl just continued to lie for no reason.
“But where did you send Havoc?” he asked. I looked at him like he was stupid to think I would tell him where Havoc was going. All Sony heard me say was that he needed to get to whereShakur was. Havoc knew exactly where to go, but I damn sure wasn’t stupid enough to give that location to Sony.
He laughed and threw his hands up in mock surrender.
“Anyway, let me get outta here and meet my pops. Once she’s dead, we’ll call a truce, I swear.” He put his right hand on his heart. I relaxed, knowing he wouldn’t lie to me.
Sony walked away and jumped in his car. I watched it speed away before I climbed into mine.
This was the only way to put things right.
Hell shouldn’t have died, so it was only right that the person responsible was taken care of. Plus, maybe this was what Havoc wanted and just couldn’t bring himself to do it. I’d heard that they hadn’t spoken since he found out and hadn’t even been staying at the house. If he forgave her, why would he stay away?
Right then, I knew I was doing the right thing for both Hell and Havoc.
I started my car and headed in the direction of my house. In twenty minutes, I needed to call Havoc back and let him know that my friend was lying. By then, Kairi will be taken.
All I had to do was tell Havoc that she was gone by the time I went to his house, so I went out to look for her before going home.
I looked up and saw the exit for my house, but I didn’t get off for some reason.
“I need to see it,” I said to myself. I had to see it to make sure. As I got closer to Havoc’s house, I turned my car lights off. I passed the black van those niggas went in. They’d parked a little way from the house.
I drove my car to the back of the house, a route Havoc had shown me when he first bought the house. I then exited my car and entered the house through the back door.
“Where the fuck is Havoc?!” one of the men yelled.
I froze because why was he asking for Havoc?
“I’m not telling you shit!” I heard Kairi hiss.
“Bitch, I will kill you!” he yelled back at her. Even knowing she was about to die, Kairi wasn’t saying anything.
“Call that nigga and tell him to come home if he doesn’t want you dead,” another voice said. My brows knitted because that wasn’t part of the plan.
“Where’s the rest of them?” the second nigga asked.
“About to pull up.”
Rest of them? What rest of them?
Just then, I looked through a window and noticed another van coming our way, and right then, I knew that Sony played me. It was never a plan to kill Kairi—they were after Havoc.
What did I do??
“Call that nigga now!”
“I won’t! Kill me now because I would rather die than let y’all get him,” Kairi yelled back.
The van stopped, and six more niggas hopped out.
My breathing spiked as I wondered what to do. Releasing a heavy breath, I grabbed my gun from my purse and rushed into the room where Kairi was.
Pop! Pop!
I shot two niggas in the head that were standing over Kairi. When their bodies dropped, the other three turned their guns on me just as Kairi took off running to the closet.
“Shit,” I cried and ducked when bullets hit the wall behind my head.
