How the fuck did they even know where he was?
“Trini, I’ll get Shakur, I promise, but I’m gonna need you to come stay with Kairi until we get back. I don’t want her alone.”
The last thing I needed was for some niggas to try their luck here while she was alone. I knew Trini could hold it down. I’d taught Kairi enough to defend herself, but I still wasn’t taking any chances.
“I’m on my way,” she let me know. I ended the call, changed into all black, and made sure to put on my bulletproof vest.
Oblique and I rushed out of my den. On the way to the garage, I looked up the stairs and made a mental note to talk to Kairi as soon as I came home.
CHAPTER FORTY-ONE
TRINI COLEMAN
Iended the call with Havoc and looked over at Sony. He smiled at me.
“Good girl.”
I felt guilt hit me, but I shook it off, knowing I was doing the right thing. I sighed and willed myself to calm down.
“That nigga isn’t getting away tonight,” one of his homeboys said, confusing me.
Kairi is a female, so what nigga is he talking about?
“What did he say?” I asked Sony, frowning. The dude turned to look at me and then Sony.
“Uh, nothing,” Sony chuckled.
“We’re ready,” another approached and said.
I noticed his crew had a lot of weapons.
What did they need all that for?
Sony looked at his crew and nodded at them. I watched as five of them climbed into a black van and headed for Havoc’s house to kill Kairi.
“Sony, are you sure?” I asked because my stomach just wouldn’t stop churning. He asked me to lure Havoc away from the house so that they could get rid of Kairi, and I wanted to make sure that would be the end of it.
“Listen, I told you already. All we want is revenge. Since we all know it was Kairi, her death will set shit right,” he said with a smile. I narrowed my eyes at him.
“And you sure y’all ain’t after Havoc?”
They said they weren’t, but I wanted to be sure.
Sony chuckled. “Nah, he can have that shit. You know me, Trini. I’m not cut out to rule no kingdom. I just wanted the truth about what happened to my nigga.”
Sony explained that he only challenged Havoc because he thought it was him, which I said he was crazy to even think that. Nobody loved Hell as much as Havoc did, so I knew there was no way he would do something like that to his own brother.
The number of times I saw Havoc take a bullet for Hell, I knew he would rather die in his place than kill him.
So, it had to be Kairi. Now that they knew it was her, Sony told me they just wanted their lick back, and that would be the end of it. I knew Kairi had to have fucked up Havoc’s head for him to even think about staying married to the person who killed his own brother. Therefore, in a way, I was doing this to save Havoc too.
“All we want is Kairi, and this shit is over,” Sony explained. I nodded. That was all I wanted too. It wasn’t fair for Havoc to deal with this war when it wasn’t his doing. It was Kairi’s.
“But what about the fact she said it was for you?” I asked him, telling him what Shakur told me.
Sony laughed.
“You believe that shit?! I don’t even know that fucking bitch. Why would I try to rape her?”
