Danika gave Elowen a hug as she passed by. Griz headed up to change into clothes he wanted to wear while he fished. When he came down, Elowen was showing Sharp and Squat the cabinet in the dining room.
“Did you know Elowen made this cabinet?” Sharp asked him as he took the last step.
His eyebrows shot up. “You did?”
She nodded, her cheeks going pink. “I’ve made a few pieces of furniture. I was thinking of making a few more and selling them. There’s a store in Los Angeles who said they might be interested. I just have to find the time, and the wood.”
“Wow, do you have a shop set up?” Griz asked.
“I was borrowing space at a friend’s place. He passed away last year. I’d need to find a place to work.”
“It’s a beautiful piece of furniture,” Rowan came over and ran her hand over the top. “I think your furniture would sell well.”
“If it didn’t, I’d mostly be out time. My main issue is I don’t have a lot of time to give to making furniture and I wouldn’t want to just give my plans to a mass producer. I’d want to make them by hand.”
“That’s so cool.”
“Very cool, but time consuming.”
They ate breakfast and he and the guys took off. They were headed to a different part of the river today to fish. He loved this area and was excited about the prospect of moving here to be with Elowen. It would take time because he still had a few months left with the Navy.
Sharp stopped walking and they all paused. “What’s up?” Shine asked him.
“That’s weird. I haven’t seen any trail cameras until now, and that one is partially hidden. You’d think that if Elowen had put up trail cameras, we would have seen more.”
Griz scratched his chin. “Huh, that’s odd.”
“Did she say anything about trail cameras?” Sharp asked.
He shook his head. “No, she hasn’t. What is it pointed at?”
Sharp glanced around. “The river.”
“So odd.” Griz scratched his chin.
“Maybe we should ask when we get back,” Sharp said.
Griz nodded. “Sure.”
When Sharp first mentioned something about the camera, he’d thought nothing of it, but it did seem odd. She had no trail cameras close to her cabin, but the one they found was still on her property. Or he thought they were still on her property. He would have to check with her.
Chapter 14
Elowen wasnervous when they started. They had a video playing with an instructor named Becky who explained each move. The other women seemed to know what to do, but after about five minutes she realized that she fit in.
“No, Becky, I can’t hold it longer,” Rowan said as she moved from the pose and adjusted.
Elowen was at the back of the group so she could see their moves.
“Ugh, my hips are so tight,” Nichole said.
“Too much sex,” Amelia said.
Nichole gasped. “Oh, heck no. It’s not too much.”
“Maybe you two need to stop using the swing,” Asher said.
They all busted out laughing. They were in child’s pose and Elowen groaned as the stretch hit her lower back.
