“Give me that,” I snapped and snatched the bra out of his grasp.

“No need to be bitter, princess,” Jack muttered and kneeled in front of me with his hands up. “A fucking thanks would do the trick.”

“Thanks,” I huffed and shooed Jack away. “Turn around. Don’t look.”

“Seriously, Elle?” Jack put his hands down and tilted his head. “I’ve seen you fucking naked, and I plan on doing it again.”

“This,” I said, pointing at him and back at me, “won’t ever happen again.”

Jack pulled a fast one and tugged me into his embrace. An arm wrapped around me, sealing me in close while a hand rested on the side of my face. The pad of his thumb caressed my cheek while chestnut eyes locked on me and he wouldn’t turn away. My breath hitched as he inched closer until he had me captured in his magnetizing orbit. I couldn’t go anywhere, but I had no intention of escaping.

“Right,” Jack whispered against my lips. “Thisthingbetween us means nothing to me.”

“Me neither.” My mouth brushed his.

Jack searched my eyes. “Liar.”

We kissed with the tenderest strokes that brought tingles to the tips of my toes. It was a lingering taste of the sweet bliss that followed the passionate moments we had shared. I wanted more of Jack—until we grew tired of the fire burning between us and parted ways without a second thought.

“Am not,” I said breathlessly against his mouth.

I turned my head, and his lips trailed down my neck.

“Are too,” Jack mumbled.

My cell phone dinged with another text. I pushed away from Jack, and he groaned, unfulfilled. My rejection was for the best, but why did it feel so wrong?

“Go find the rest of my clothes, Jack,” I commanded.

“Fine.” Jack ran a hand through his hair. “I was about to do that anyway.”

Jack went in the opposite direction of me, and I lost his shirt. I put my bra back on but missed the warmth he had given me. My skin yearned for him to wrap around meand keep me as warm as a fireplace. Everything would sizzle, crackle, and flicker with sparks he’d ignite. The flames would burn uncontrollably until he put the fire out by poking me with his giant...

“Here’s the rest of them.” Jack held my clothes up in front of my face. “You okay?”

Crap. I had zoned out, daydreaming about my sexy neighbor. Again.

Not gonna happen anymore.

I smiled up at Jack. “Never better.”

I stood up and grabbed my panties. Hurriedly, I balanced my body weight while I got each leg in and pushed Jack’s face away. Only letting him go after he covered his hand over his face, and he swore he wouldn’t look, but I caught him peeking through his fingers.Damn jerk.

I smacked my hand off Jack’s chest.

“I got clarity,” I added with my back turned to him.

“You can thank my gigantic cock later,” Jack voiced with pride.

I glanced over my shoulder. “I’ve still had bigger.” I threw my dress over my head, the fabric hitting him in the face.

My head popped through the hole, and I was about to zip up my dress, but Jack beat me to it.

“I don’t believe you,” Jack whispered in my ear.

“Believe it, Timber.” I bent down to retrieve my cell phone, pushed away from Jack and rushed toward my boots.

I tugged on one boot and grabbed the other. My hand was already on the doorknob before my other boot was on, and I pushed the door open. The winter breeze hit me and made me realize I had forgotten my damn coat. Lostsomewhere in the scurry of getting as far away from Timber as possible.
