She wrapped her arms around his waist.“I promise I won’t come in again.I’ll just wait out here for you.”
He slid his thumb over her bottom lip.“I’d rather you come in.I don’t want you standing out here.Besides, I’m going to have to get used to it.You’re so beautiful it’s hard not to flirt with you.”
“I don’t pay attention to them.All I see is you.”
He growled and started walking them down the street.“You’re making it really hard not to pin you up against the building and kiss you the way I want.”
“We’d probably get arrested,” she joked.
He laughed.“I’d never hear the end of that.”
She noticed Kaleb started to relax when they were sitting down to eat.She tried to think of things she could do to ease his jealousy, but she thought only time would do it.Time for him to see she only had eyes for him.
Chapter Eleven
Kaleb sat at his deskand kept glancing at the time.He wanted his hands on his baby girl, and that day, he didn’t have to wait until they got home.He knew he wouldn’t be able to make love to her, and he thought a kiss would settle him enough to get through the rest of the day.
He caught her scent as he was on the phone before he saw her.He finished his call and then turned to her.The first look of her always snagged his breath, and he instantly hardened.
He smiled and pulled her onto his lap.
Jeff went over everything that happened.
Kaleb’s first feeling was dread, but then he saw her blush and thought she looked so charming, he put his feelings aside and laughed.
He scowled over her shoulder.“Stop teasing her, Jeff.”
The three decided on a plan, and then Kaleb wrapped an arm around her waist as they walked to the elevator.
He rolled his eyes and tightened his grip on her waist when a guy he worked with walked up to them.He knew what was coming.Ray liked women, and he liked variety..He didn’t know how long Ray’s marriage would last because he already had at least one affair that Kaleb knew of.
Kaleb tried his best to ignore the guys.They were usually decent, but he knew how hard it was not to try to talk to her when she was around.“There’s a great sandwich shop down the street.”
He couldn’t wait.As soon as the elevator doors closed, he corralled her against the wall and kissed her until she started making some of the sounds that always drove him crazy.
He raised his head and looked down at her.He probably shouldn’t have done that, because she looked even more beautiful with her puffy red lips and the desire that sparkled in her eyes.Cops were known to be smart-asses, and he knew most didn’t mean to piss him off.They had to do whatever they could to relax during stressful days on the job.
