Jeff chuckled, dropped her arm, walked to his desk, and sat.
Myla waited behind Kaleb until he set the phone down and turned.
Kaleb smiled and pulled her onto his lap.“Hey, Baby.Did you have any trouble getting up here?”
“I found her downstairs and walked her up.All the guys were obnoxious and wanted to meet her.We’ll have to walk her up every time she comes.”
Kaleb nodded at Jeff.
“They were only being silly,” she said and watched both men grin.
Kaleb snorted.“No, Baby.They were being guys.”
She wrapped her arms around Kaleb’s neck.“Well, I, for one, don’t let it bother me.”
“Because you’re probably used to it,” Jeff joked.“You’ve had men falling all over you since you were a teenager, Am I right?”
Kaleb laughed when she blushed.“I think that’s your answer, Jeff.”
Jeff hooted.“I haven’t seen a blush that bright since junior high.”
“Stop teasing her.”
She turned to face Kaleb so she was able to kiss him.“Hello, are you ready for lunch?”
Kaleb cupped her face and took another kiss.“I am.”He lifted her to her feet and then grabbed his suit jacket and slipped it on.“Are you sure you don’t want to go with us?”he asked Jeff.
She grinned at Jeff.“I already asked him.He’s wimping out.”
“Next time.I’ve too many calls.”
“We’ll bring you back a sandwich then.”
“That would be great.I’ll be here.It was nice seeing you again, Myla.”
“You, too, Jeff.”
Kaleb wrapped an arm around her waist as they walked to the elevator.
“Remember what I said, Myla,” Shane said from his desk.
“I already told you, I’m not giving my guy up.”
She felt a slight change in Kaleb.She pressed her head against his shoulder as they waited for the elevator.She waved several times.By the time the elevator came, she had noticed a tick in Kaleb’s jaw.
“Where do you want to go?”she asked.
He looked down at her, and his expression softened.“There’s a great sandwich shop down the street.”
“Sounds good.”
They stepped on the elevator.When the doors closed, Kaleb turned to her, cupped the back of her head, and kissed her until she shook.She licked her lips and then hummed.
“Jesus, woman.You’re going to make me come if you don’t stop.”
She giggled.“Stop what?You’re the one who kissed me first.I just enjoyed it, Daddy.A lot.”
He chuckled as the doors opened, and they stepped off.Once again, a few of the cops razzed Kaleb and tried to flirt with her.The tick was back by the time they made it out to the sidewalk.
