This is not about protecting my property, it’s about who she is to me, my woman, my old lady. The one I want to cherish, make sure she doesn’t shed a tear due to pain, grief, or anything else but happiness.Simply holding my woman to feel her taking one breath after another without an inch of worry clouding her mind.

I know I can’t always be there to protect her, but I can damn well take precautions. We move toward the warehouse and when I pass the van that my old lady is sitting in, I raise my hand and blow a kiss in that direction.

A Wisely Dicey biker named Jocko snorts beside me and grumbles, “When will you pussy whipped fuckers understand how fucking stupid you look when a damn man does sappy shit?”

“Run into your future old lady and then we’ll talk,” Thorsten snaps.

“I’ll be sure to run the woman over if that happens, Prez.’Cause there isn’t a universe to live in where I’ll hand my balls over.”

I shake my head while Macsen says, “Jocko is oblivious. The man doesn’t know what it entails when you find the right woman.I remember when I found mine. Her tits were pressing against my back while she held me at gunpoint.”He shoots me a grin.“She’s a mafia princess with a side job as assassin.”

“Damn,” I mutter.

Falcon snaps his fingers and points in the direction of the warehouse.

“Right,” Thorsten grunts.“Time to get this shit done.Normally, law enforcement will show up, barge in, hand them warrants and shit. Now?We’re just gonna blast down the door and contain the situation with limited injuries and as few deaths as possible.Throwing fuckers in prison will be good for the justice system, and less paperwork for me.On the other hand?Ending some of these nasty fuckers with long rap sheets of assault and other seriously twisted behavior will be good for this world.”

I nod.“Understood.”

Others also agree around us.

“They are flying blind,” Lenz states through our earpiece, letting us know he disabled the security system.

We now have the element of surprise and I quickly move forward with five others while a handful of Wisely Dicey brothers split into two teams to surround the warehouse from other sides. We all have our guns in hand, except for Falcon who is palming a battering ram.

With one hard swing he takes down the door and steps to the side to make room for us to enter. We’re all wearing bulletproof vests marked with a large Wisely Dicey patch.I don’t like wearing another club’s colors, but it’s necessary to prevent mix-ups and to stay safe.Though, it doesn’t do shit when a bullet hits you between the eyes.

Total chaos is what we walk into when the shouting starts and Sheridan Slayers men all start to run and bump into shit like chickens without a head.

“What the fuck?”Thorsten grunts.

“Are they all high?”I mutter and keep my gun aimed at the idiots.

A roar comes from our right and a door swings open. The sound of a bullet being fired triggers something in those sky-high idiots and then the room becomes a damn war zone.

The one who started everything is Otto, and the fucker is hiding in the room he was in while the door is open.I try to move in that direction and fire off a round when someone tries to come at me with a knife.

A grunt rips from me when a bullet hits my vest. The breath is knocked out of me for a heartbeat or two and I don’t even have the time to recover when the biker who shot at me is ready to aim somewhere the vest doesn’t cover.

I squeeze the trigger and kill the man by letting two bullets hit him straight in the chest. His knees buckle and he stumbles to the floor.More bullets are fired while I get closer to the room.I hiss and get distracted by pain flaring up in my arm.

Risking a glance down I notice the blood dripping from my arm and it’s coming from a bullet that tore off a piece of flesh. It’s not even considered a graze when it takes a chunk off your damn arm, right?Fuck. My ink is ruined.

Another roar coming from the room where I was heading pulls my focus back to where it should be.Almost a split second too late when I stare into the barrel of a gun.Blood hits me right in the face and I stumble back.

Thank fuck I don’t feel any pain, is my first thought. The second one is relief I’m not dead, and then I watch as Mercy’s uncle’s eyes glaze over right before his body crumbles to the floor.

Jocko smacks my shoulder.“You’re welcome.See?It’s important to stay single ’cause it’ll keep you sharp.”

Movement from behind him catches my attention and I swing my arm up to kill a man who almost killed off Jocko’s annoying rambling.Jocko’s arm twitches and a look of horror slides across his face.

Jocko’s eyes are still wide when he glances behind him to stare at the dead man.“Fuck.I recently experienced something eerily similar where I almost killed Macsen’s old lady.I could have killed you if my mind didn’t do a doubletake because of what recently happened.”

“What?”I wonder while I quickly scan the room.

“Nothing,” Jocko says all too quickly.

“All clear,” I hear Thorsten state.
