Others are coming in from the back to let us know we have the clubhouse under control.I tug my weapon away and start to check the leather cuts of all the bikers on the floor.
“Where is he?”I roar in frustration when I can’t find the fucker.
“Who?”Macsen asks when he comes to a stop next to me.
Throwing a frustrating glare over my shoulder I snap, “Linus, the VP.”
Macsen curses and has his phone in hand when I hear curses flow through my earpiece followed by the sound of a gunshot. It’s so damn loud, I rip off my earpiece and start to run out of the clubhouse.
Pushing my feet, I run as fast as I can and hear footsteps behind me along with Thorsten’s voice, “If that fucker so much as...”
He doesn’t get to finish his sentence when we take in the scene in front of us.Livi is standing over a man with her gun still drawn. He has a bullet wound in his chest and his gray shirt is quickly turning a dark red under his leather cut.A cut that states this man is the VP.
Mercy is staring at Thorsten’s old lady and when I get closer, I ask, “Mercy, are you okay?”
As if she’s jolted into action, she starts to kick Linus and roars out her words, “You fucking asshole, how do you feel now?Do you feel the pain?Is it clear I’m the one doing it?No?I can go harder to make sure you’ll never forget this moment.”She laughs without humor and sneers, “Funny how the tables are turned, right? One difference, though.I’m the one smiling now and will live knowing you will never hurt me again.”
I’m smiling proud and when she starts to kick the fucker again, I head for my woman. The bullet wound to the chest shows the fucker won’t survive if he doesn’t get to the hospital soon. There’s no need for more stress than she already has.
I almost reach her when Linus suddenly surges up and reaches for her.Another gunshot rings out, Linus’s head snaps back and the fucker hits the ground for the last time.
“Die, motherfucker,” Livi grits.
Mercy’s gaze hits mine and something passes between us.Both of us know very well she just taunted fate the way her mind triggers talking among others, giving her the result she hoped for, Linus dead.
The corner of my mouth twitches and I give a slight nod in appreciation to let her know I’m glad the fucker is dead.It might not be right to acknowledge her talking among others is a direct link to violence happening as a side effect, but in this case I’m damn glad it happened.
“Thank you,” Mercy whispers to Livi.
Thorsten’s old lady tucks her gun away and shoots Mercy a wink.“Always, my friend.”
