I’d never seen Silver so angry…well at least not in a long time.
“You played in my fucking face!” Silver shouted. “To think….”
She stopped herself and Paul stepped in to defend his wife. “Silver, I’m not going to let you talk to my wife like this.”
“Paul shut the hell up. They played you too. Unless you knew!”
He stopped, and stared at Silver.
Goddamn, say something, I thought.
Your entire fucking world is burning down in front of you.
“Silver,” I breathed.
“I knew it! I knew it!” She shook her head, and the lite amount of mascara she’d worn tonight began to slide and paint her face. It was starting to drizzle.
“I…” There was nothing that I was going to be able to say to make this go away. “Silver, can we please go somewhere and talk about this.”
“Yeah, Silver, please,” Chyna finally found her voice. “Please…”
Silver bit her lip looking between the two of us. “I knew you would break my heart. I just never fucking imagined that my best friend would help facilitate it. I almost bought it, Kelton. That you actually loved me.”
“I do…Silver, we need to talk this out. Its more complicated than …”
Paul was rubbing at the bridge of his nose. He had started to put shit together and Chyna had started to pace.
“I never wanna see you, either of you…” Silver looked between the two of us. “Ever again.”
“Silver you can’t mean that,” Chyna whimpered.
My girlfriend was about to rock her best friend’s shit but she held herself together. I wanted to take her in my arms and take away the pain.
Dani came out of nowhere then, smiling at me. “Silver, let me drive us home, okay.”
“Yes, I fucking mean every word I said,” she swiped at her eyes.
“So you mean to tell me, you fucked my wife?” Paul had been slow but he was in the game now.
Before I could even respond, I saw stars as my best friend’s fist clouded my vision. Falling back onto the sidewalk in front of onlookers, I saw the paparazzi descend. In the morning I was going to be on every newspaper and blog site from here to New York.
Rubbing at my jaw, I watched as the love of my life left with her psycho assistant.
I’d just lost everything.
Chapter16
Silver
Climbing the steps, one at a time, I started to count them. With each one that I took my mind raced back to what had just occurred.
Chyna.
Kelton.
They had slept together. They had withheld this shit from me for how long. I knew in my heart, they had never planned to tell me. We would have went on forever, in a song and dance of Kelton’s own making with me none the wiser.
Would that have been so bad?
