stomach. “That’s…Is that good?”

“I think so. I mean you used to be kind of annoying and temperamental

but now…I guess I’ve just always found that endearing.”

“Is…What?” Jacob responded.

“Would you want to come over?” Thomas asked. “I can order us pizza.

We can grab a few beers and maybe watch something. I know you enjoy

some terrible beers but maybe I can share a good one or two with you. Do

you like Jim Henson movies?”

“Of course- but wait- no- I’d love to but I’m sick. Actually I’m dead

right now. Let me call you tomorrow.” Jacob hung up the phone and put it

down on the couch.

What was that about? He flashed back to the coffee Thomas had got

earlier. Had he…? Had he drugged his friend with a love spell? He hadn’t

intended to…And why would he be reaching out to him when he had been

so happily partnered with that pretty lady… unless…

“Teddy? I think I screwed up?” He sat and nervously chewedupon his

nails.

“I know you did- but what do you think you did this time?” Teddy

asked.

“Thomas…Yesterday I gave him the drink and the musical thing

happened, and I thought that he’d fallen in love with someone…He was

dancing with that girl but then as soon as he walked out the store…Well,

I just got a weird call from him.”

“What did he say?”

“Want to come by for pizza and beer?” Teddy peered at him. “Sounds like a normal call for affection from a straight man.” “Then he asked if I wanted to watch something from Jim Henson.”

Jacob continued.

“Oh. Well that’s not good.” Teddy responded.

“What do I do?”

“I guess that depends. We could make a hate spell?” Teddy shrugged.

“Or you could just wait it out?”
