“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

I shake my head. Cole helps me down. Ilean into him one more time. “Thank you.”

“You’re very welcome.”

I turn to Laura, who’s leaning againstthe car. “Oh, my freaking hell.” We bounce up and down together like we areten-year-old girls. Cole walks around to the driver’s side door, opening it upfor me. “You want me to drive it now?” My heart rate spikes. “I don’t thinkso.”

“Kate, you’ve got to start sometime.” Hegives me that smile.

Kit opens the passenger side for Lauraand she gets in. “Let’s go, we’ve got things to do.” She taps her watch.

“Cookie, you’ll be fine. If you canmaneuver that beast of a Dodge—,”

“Shh,” I cover Cole’s mouth. “You don’tneed to let everyone know.” Cole licks my hand. “Ew, gross.” And I wipe my handon his jacket.

“If you can drive that car, you won’thave any problems with this car. It’s all set up for automatic. It’s a clear, beautiful night; you don’t need to worry about putting the top up. Take it todinner and shopping and then if you want Keaton…” Cole points to the idlingEscalade where Morgan and Keaton wave. “He or Morgan can drive it home.”

“I still get security.”

“Yes baby.”

I narrow my eyes. “Cole, why?”

“Baby, please don’t argue.”

I huff, resigned, and crawl into the car.Cole leans over, doing up my seatbelt for me. “Have fun,” he glances at Laura.“But not too much fun.” He gives me a quick kiss on the lips and then stands, closing my door.

I watch Cole walk around the front andflash my bright lights at him. “Bye, hot stuff.”

“Be safe,” he calls.

“I will.” I turn to Laura. “Yikes, okay, here we go.” I push the start button and put the car into drive. “You bettergoogle where the club is on your phone, because I didn’t think we’d bedriving.”

“I already did. You need to turn left outof the hotel.”

Without too much trouble, I maneuver theFerrari onto Las Vegas Boulevard. “Now comes the scary part.” I laugh, mainlyso I don’t cry.

“Uh, I forgot to tell you that you looksmoking hot tonight.”

“Aw thanks, so do you.”

“It was amazingly much easier to spend myhusband’s money on someone else. So, you’re very welcome.”

“Don’t you have your own now?”

“Oh, yeah—I do.” We both laugh.

A stretch Hummer limousine pulls upalongside us. We both come to a stop at the light, the limo slightly in front. We see hands stretch out of the top and then Kit pops up through the sunroof.“Hey Sugar, look at you driving a Fe-rr-ari.”

“Kit.” Laura yells. “Are you alreadydrunk?”

“Maybe, but you’ll never know for sure.”All of the sudden, Kit is gone and Cooper pops out.

He’s wearing an Elvis wig and glasses. Iput my hand over my forehead. “Oh, my gosh.” I’m sure Cole is dying inside.Laura whistles at him.

“Hey Katie, it’s me, Elvis, your hunk ahunk of burning love.”

Some women in a limo behind us whistleand holler, “I’ll love you tender, Elvis.”
