Hayley

2010

He drives up to the old lookout point, and I smile when I realize what he’s doing. The last time we came here floods my thoughts. The way he made love to me under the stars in the back of his truck, much like this one. I flush at the thought. But there was always a mixture of joy and sadness in those memories. There are a few cars scattered around, no doubt with teenagers making out. He gets out and opens my door for me.

Taking my hand, he walks me to the back of the truck. I wonder if we are going to have a rerun of the last time we were here. The thought sends shivers down my spine. Of course, I thought about it, but not without the guilt of what I’ve done to Logan weighing heavily on me. I’m sorry he has to be the one to suffer. That’s the worst thing about all this.

He pulls out a picnic basket, and we walk to a more secluded area overlooking the town. It is incredible, the view spectacular. It looks like a carpet of a million stars all banding together.

I gasp. There’s a teepee-style camp set up. The tent itself is made of bamboo and multi-colored materials, the interior floor littered with pillows and large cushions. Angel lights and lamps are hanging around the tent, and a small fire burns.

“This— This is breathtaking. How did you do all this?”

“A magician never reveals his secrets.” He kisses my neck, and it sends shivers down my spine.

I turn and capture him around his waist.

“I’m here because I want to be.”

I told him about Logan and me, and he promised not to push me, but I need him to know there is nowhere else I would rather be. We spoke about the years, his lack of contact. He said he didn’t want it to be harder on me. In the early years, we’d been in touch frequently, but when we ended the way we did, he didn’t want to make it harder for me. And now, amidst his troubles, he’s done all this for me.

He places his hands on either side of my face and kisses me. Our lips moving in sync, neither fighting for dominance, each in the moment. He releases me, and I stand at the edge of the cliff, my heart full and my soul at peace. This is where I should be.

I join him at the fire.

“You’re my everything, Hayley. The reason I breathe; the reason I live. There is no one like you in the world, and you’re mine.”

I smile. “You say the sweetest things.”

“You make me say these things. You make me want to say it to you forever.”

“Dance with me.” He switches on the radio and pulls me up until I’m flush against him. “You're the Key to My Heart” by The Isley Brothers blares in the background.

“You’re so corny,” I whisper as he sways with me. Placing kisses from my neck to my collarbone.

“You’re mine, Hayley,” he groans as he lifts me into his arms, carrying me into the tent. He rips open my shirt and buries his face in my chest, nipping, sucking, and squeezing my nipples until I moan.

“Shh,” he whispers, covering my mouth with his.

He tugs down my skirt and rips my panties off, tucking them into his back pocket. That act alone drives me crazy, and I buck up, wanting to feel him against me.

He cups my pussy with his hands, squeezing gently.

I can feel how soaked I am. Wyatt slowly slips a finger into me and continues to suck on my nipple.

“You will always be mine,” he says when he comes up for air.

He slips his finger in and out of me as he stares down at me.

“Please, now. I need to . . .” The pleasure he’s eliciting is unbearable. I feel my orgasm building hard.

“What do you need to do, baby?” he taunts.

“Come . . .” I feel myself erupt as his finger works me.

He slips off his T-shirt in one quick motion, his jeans and boxers join after.
