Marcus looks at me. “Tell me where you need me.”

Between my thighs.

I swallow. “Help Cole with the bat decorations.”

“And me?”

“Start cooking the fillings. We’re going to make the Dutch apple tarts.”

Gabe snaps into action and Cole’s already painstakingly putting in the bat decorations.

Marcus works diligently, too, and I watch the three for too long before I move myself.

“You know what we talked about while you were gone, Marcus?” Cole asks idly.

I look over at him, confused.

Marcus grunts in response.

“Sharing,” Cole drawls, and I nearly drop the cup of flour I have in my hand.

“Cole!” Gabe groans.

“Well, we did.”

Marcus looks at Cole. Looks at Gabe. Looks at me.

“That what you want, angel?”

His voice is low, almost dangerous, and I don’t know what he wants my answer to be.

But I know what my answer is.

“Yes.”

Gabe’s shoulders straighten. Cole just gives me a slow smile.

Marcus doesn’t move a muscle.

“Okay,” he says finally. He looks down at his hands. “I’ve never shared anything I wanted. Guess I’m learning.”

Heat rushes through me.

“You’d be willing to share?”

“I told you, angel. I’ll do anything for you,” he murmurs, turning back to continue his tasks.

“Jesus,” Gabe curses quietly, and I make the sign of the cross.

Cole chuckles, and then the subject is dropped.

We work diligently for a few hours. It’s nearly dusk when Cole finishes washing up the dishes, but it’s hard to tell because of the storm clouds.

I look out the window, biting my lip. “I don’t like the idea of driving back to Garland Falls in this.”

Gabe walks up behind me. He doesn’t touch me but I can feel his warmth all the same.

“You don’t have to,” he mumbles. “We’ll take Marcus’s truck. Go back to my cabin for the night.”
