My gaze snaps back to Margo.
She tilts her chin up. “What?”
I advance, backing her up against the counter with my body, pinning her. I place my hands on either side of her on the metal counter and lean in.
Margo draws in a shaky breath.
“What did Marcus say to you?”
She just looks at me, brown eyes sparkling with defiance.
“None of your business.”
I let out a breath that’s almost a growl.
“Did he fulfill your wish?”
She shakes her head. “No.”
“But Gabe did.”
“Yes.”
Her mouth is in an almost permanent pout.
I groan, burying my face against her neck, breathing in her scent of rosewater and something warm and sweet like brown sugar.
“C-Cole,” she stutters, but she doesn’t pull away.
Not even when I press my lips against her throat. My tongue darts out to taste the salt of her skin, and Margo lets out a little whimper.
I move my mouth just under her jaw, kissing her there open-mouthed. I suck a mark there and Margo squeaks.
I pull away with a pop and look down at her.
I take her uptilted chin in my hand.
“Open.”
Her mouth pops open immediately, and a smirk plays at my lips.
“Good girl,” I murmur, and Margo melts, her arms going around my neck, mouth still obediently open.
I devour her mouth, sucking on her tongue. Margo moans, the sound muffled as I keep kissing her.
When her fingers tighten in the hair at the nape of my neck I pause, smiling against her mouth.
I pull away just to hear her whine, and she does. Pleasure rolls down my spine. I’m going to make a game out of that sound.
“Gabe’s right,” I say, and my voice comes out hoarse. “You do taste like all my best dreams.”
Margo breathes in through her nostrils and opens her mouth but then I hear Gabe at the back door.
I step away, looking at the mark I’d left under her jaw. She can hide it easily, but I’ll know.
Gabe looks between the two of us. He looks absolutely miserable.
I almost feel bad.
