Obviously.
I'm a grown woman with responsibilities. But I'd like him to want me to.
Which is even more pathetic.
“Well, it was nice meeting you, Grimm Palermo.”
His gaze drops to my mouth.
“It was very nice meeting you, Agatha.”
There goes my stomach again.
Traitor.
I turn toward the gym before I can do something stupid.
Like ask him if he's single.
Or where he lives.
Or whether he has plans after Back to School Night.
Or if he'd like to make some.
“Agatha?”
I stop.
Slowly, I look over my shoulder.
Grimm is watching me.
“What?”
For a moment, he says nothing.
His expression is strange. Almost conflicted. Then his eyes move over my face like he's trying to memorize it.
“Goodnight.”
That's it?
Goodnight?
My stupid heart sinks.
“Goodnight.”
I take exactly three steps.
The door behind the gym opens.
“Aggie? What are you doing out here?” Wulfy steps outside. Well, technically, Principal Wulfredo Tremayne steps outside.
Tall, powerful, and intimidating enough that generations of Royal Academy students have probably reconsidered poor life choices just from having him look at them.
He's also Dora's mate which means I've seen him half asleep at breakfast while Dora complains that he used all the hot water.
