“I said no.”
I glance toward Dora and Wulfy.
They're on the opposite side of the ballroom, partially hidden by dozens of dancing students.
Too far away.
Nobody is coming to fix this for me.
Fine, I'll fix it myself.
“I said, let go.”
Something flickers in his eyes.
“Stop being dramatic.”
“I'm not being dramatic. You're grabbing me after I told you no.”
A couple of people nearby look over.
Good. Let them.
For once, I don't care if I make a scene. Coach's smile becomes strained.
“You're embarrassing yourself.”
“No. You're embarrassing yourself. And you have two seconds to remove your hands from my person.”
Holy shit. Did I say that?
His fingers tighten. Pain shoots up my arm.
“Just dance with me.”
“I said no.”
I pull. And I get nowhere because, hello, Lion Shifter.
Supernatural strength.
Fabulous.
“You're hurting me.”
His nostrils flare.
“Maybe if you'd stop fighting—”
A deep, growly voice cuts through the ballroom.
“Unhand my mate before I skin you for a rug.”
Everything stops.
Not metaphorically.
Everything.
