“You also said you were going to clean as you went.”

“I was busy hosting.”

“You were busy playing married woman with Frankenstein.”

“Okay… that too.”

Caspian chuckled beside me.

Willow checked her phone, and whatever she saw made a smile spread across her face. “Speaking of my husband…”

I narrowed my eyes. “What?”

“I need to go see a man about a monster.”

“Girl, what?”

“I need to go see my husband! It’s not midnight, so technically, I’m still a married woman, and I have a few wifely duties to perform before this marriage expires.”

Caspian laughed again.

I groaned. “Willow, after everything that just happened, please tell me you are not about to leave this house and go meet-up with Frankenstein. What if he turns out to be the real thing and you have to plug that nigga into the wall before he can perform?”

“Then I hope he comes with a long cord.” She adjusted her purse strap. “After what I’ve experienced tonight, I think a man with a pulse and a few loose screws is well within my comfort zone. But he’s not a real monster, Lakelyn. He also has a real name.”

“Do you know it?”

She paused.

I folded my arms.

Willow sighed. “That is not important right now.”

“It seems pretty damn important if you’re about to go meet him somewhere.”

“All I’m saying is, he’s been texting me since he left, and I need to see if he got that same energy without the green face and bolts in his neck.”

I burst out laughing. “You don’t even know that man’s name?”

“I know enough. I know that he’s fine, tall, and smells good. And according to his Instagram, he owns a construction company.”

I paused. “You found his Instagram already?”

She gave me an offended expression. “Girl, please. I am not going anywhere with a man before doing a preliminary investigation. Halloween marriage does not override common sense.”

I waved toward the mess around us. “Whatever. Just make sure your ass comes back tomorrow and handles all this. I helped set it up, but I am not spending my morning cleaning up after your party!”

Before Willow could respond, she slowly turned toward Caspian.

I knew immediately I wasn’t going to like whatever had just entered her mind.

“Wait a minute.”

Caspian raised a brow. “What?”

She pointed around the room. “Bro, you can clean this up, right?”

“Willow.”
