Caspian: The Not So Friendly Ghost

I laughed. “Shit, I can understand that. Lakelyn is one of a kind.” I smiled to myself because simply thinking about my woman could do that to me. “That woman fine as hell, smart, got her own shit going on and can cook her ass off. And when she’s in love with you?” I shook my head. “Man.”
Chalis’s hands curled into fists. I noticed, but I didn’t give a fuck.
“And that pussy?” I brought my fingertips to my lips, kissed them, then flicked my hand away in a slow chef’s kiss. “Fuckin’ perfection. And the head? Whew. My nigga, I can’t even lie to you. Shit, I definitely understand why your ass mad.”
Chalis looked like he could’ve killed me with his bare hands right then. His jaw was clenched so tight I could see the muscle jumping in his cheek, his nostrils were flaring, and both of his fists were balled at his sides like it was taking everything in him not to swing on me. The nigga was damn near vibrating with anger.
He’d be all right.
Normally, I didn’t give niggas like Chalis nearly that much of my time. Once I decided a mothafucka wasn’t worth my attention, I treated him accordingly. But that nigga had come onto my property, had my men killed, walked into my house with guns, and then had the nerve to stand in front of me practically whining over a woman he had repeatedly fucked over when he had her. Since he wanted my attention so damn bad, I figured I might as well give him enough of it to ruin the rest of his night.
Besides, I knew exactly what was getting under his skin now, and I was enough of an asshole to keep digging once I found the wound.
I turned toward his friends. “Y’all ever had a woman so damn good you start making excuses to leave work early just to get home to her?”
“Hell yeah,” one of the men replied, and judging by how quickly his expression changed when Chalis cut his eyes toward him, the words had clearly slipped out before he remembered whose side he was supposed to be on.
I smirked. “Then you feel where I’m coming from.”
“Shut the fuck up!” Chalis roared.
I laughed because the nigga wasn’t even trying to hide how bothered he was anymore. “Damn. Now your own people agreeing with me got you emotional? But what’s wrong, nigga? We talking about the same woman, ain’t we?”
He started breathing harder, but instead of backing off, I stepped closer.
“See, that’s the difference between me and you. You had a woman like Lakelyn and still had your tongue hanging out every time another bitch walked past you.” I shook my head. “Me? Other pussy don’t excite me like that. A fine woman walk by with a big ass, shit, I might look because I ain’t blind, but I ain’t about to start salivating, chasing behind her, begging for a number, or wondering what she look like naked. For what? My woman already got enough ass for me to grab with both hands and still have some left over.”
I smiled when Chalis’s face tightened.
“And when I get home, I already know exactly what I’m getting. Fine as hell, soft in all the right places, nasty when I need her to be, and in love with me. Ain’t too many random bitches in the world competing with that.”
Chalis glared at me with so much hatred in his face that if looks could’ve killed, I probably would’ve dropped right there. Every word I said seemed to push him another inch closer to losing whatever little self-control he had left.
I checked my watch and frowned. “Actually, I need to hurry this little conversation up. She’s probably waiting for me to pull up in about ten minutes, and I’d much rather be looking at her than your angry ass.”
Chalis stepped directly into my path. “We ain’t finished talking.”
“Nigga, yes the fuck we are,” I snarled, then pointed toward the door. “So take your lil’ Rent-A-Thug crew, get the fuck off my property, and go find somebody who actually wants your ass. Because if you think I’m about to stand here all night arguing with you over a woman who will be moaning my name with her legs wrapped around me before this night is over, you got me all the way fucked up.”
I let that sit there for a second because I could damn near see the words burning holes through him.
“Matter of fact, keep wasting my time and I might make her scream it a little louder just in case the wind carries, so you can hear how much she loves this dick and how fast she forgets you ever existed when I’m in that pussy.”
I smirked at the way his face hardened, then I pointed toward the door again.
“Now you got about five seconds before this conversation turns into something none of y’all walk away from smiling.”
The nigga still didn’t move.
Chalis’s face twisted. “I should’ve dealt with yo’ ass a long time ago.”
I smiled. “Then why the fuck you dealt?” I leaned closer. “Oh, because you knew better, mothafucka.”
One of his boys laughed, and Chalis turned toward him. That was when I saw his hand move toward his waistband.
I had made sure his boys put their weapons aside, but I had never seen Chalis put one down. I had been so busy thinking the nigga had finally lost his mind over Lakelyn that I hadn’t considered the possibility that he had come prepared to kill me himself.
He pulled out his gun and pointed it directly at my chest.
