“Man, I got my phone, my wallet, my—”

“Nigga, I don’t care ‘bout none of that shit. Get the fuck outta my house, and this is me asking you nicely. You really don’t wanna see what happens when I stop asking.”

He took another step backward. “Aight, man. You got it.”

Yonas turned toward the staircase, but I couldn’t let him leave that easily.

I had to have just a little more fun with him and make damn sure he understood exactly what he had encountered, so he’d know better than to ever show his ass back up at my house again.

Before he reached the staircase, I disappeared from behind him and appeared directly in front of him.

Yonas stopped cold. “Yo! What the fuck?!”

I smiled. “Going somewhere?”

He spun around.

I appeared behind him.

“Aaaaaaah!”

I disappeared again and appeared to his left, then his right, then directly in front of him.

Yonas started turning in circles, trying to figure out where the hell I would show up next.

I laughed. “What’s wrong, my nigga?”

“Stop doing that!”

I appeared behind him.

“Doing what?” I taunted.

He spun around, but I was already gone. Then I appeared above him, a good two feet off the floor with my arms folded and my feet hanging in the air while I looked down at his ass.

Yonas slowly lifted his head.

“Nah! That shit can’t be happening! I’m just seeing shit! No, I’m dreaming! Yeah. That’s it.”

I chuckled. “Well, pinch yourself and try to wake up. But you really still think that shit? Apparently, you’re one of them mothafuckas who gotta see everything with your own two eyes before you believe it… in this case, twice. Probably was one of them kids who needed Santa Claus to walk in the room and show ID before you accepted Christmas was real.” I shook my head, amused. “Aight then. You think I’m doing this shit off pure talent and good genetics? Cool. I’ll make a believer out of you.”

I slowly lowered myself until my feet hovered a few inches above the floor, then disappeared before he could blink and reappeared directly behind him. I leaned close enough for my breath to ghost across his ear, reached up, and flicked the edge of it with my finger.

“Boo.”

Yonas screamed so loud I heard movement from Lakelyn’s bedroom.

That nigga took off toward the staircase.

“Aaaaaaaah! Somebody help me!”

I followed him. “I told you to keep yo’ fuckin’ voice down, nigga! And don’t break nothing on your way out!”

Yonas reached the top of the stairs, looked back, and saw me floating again. “Please don’t kill me!”

I folded my arms. “Then move your fucking ass!”

He started down the stairs, and that was when Lakelyn’s bedroom door flew open.
