I smirk at him before leaning forward to kiss her again. “You’re fucking perfect.” My fingers tease her clit. “My sweet princess.”
Castor’s thrusts turn urgent, and she gasps. I can tell she’s close again, and so is he.
“Don’t finish inside her,” I snarl before I can stop myself.
Castor curses under his breath, but thankfully he pulls out of her with a groan.
“No! Don’t stop,” she whimpers, but I pull her into my lap before she can demand anything else. My hands roam over her body, clutching her sore rear and squeezing it gently. Mine.
“Let me finish you off.” I nuzzle into her neck. “It’ll feel so good.”
When her eyes flutter open, they’re filled with desperate need. Until she catches her breath and tenses.
“What is it?”
“You…” She shakes her head. “You took my virtue this morning, didn’t you?”
“Eden,” I laugh with Castor.
“You took my virtue and we’re not even married.” Her eyes water. “Now you’ve brought me here and,” she gasps, “you made me do…” Her breaths quicken. “Stars, I shouldn’t be here at all. This is all so wrong. No… It’s all wrong!”
Before I can process what’s happening, she scrambles out of my hold. I reach for her, but she’s too quick. Thank fuck Castor grabs her before she can fall off the bed.
“Get off me!” she yells through tears.
My heart breaks. “Sweetheart, there’s nothing wrong about this. We’re mates. By faerie law we’re as good as married.”
“I’m not a faerie!” She swipes at Castor before he manages to twist her arms behind her back. “Let go of me! I want to go home!”
“Eden, we’ve been through this.” I reach forward to comfort her, but she snaps her teeth at me.
My eyes widen. “I didn’t realise princesses could bite,” I laugh nervously.
“GET OFF!” she screams. “I hate you both!” Her words cut me like a knife.
“Eden…” I start.
“Stop it! Stop saying my name like that! I hate it!” she yells. “Let me go!” Tears stream down her cheeks, and it takes everything within me not to wrap my arms around her.
“You hate me?” I ask quietly. “Is that really the truth?”
“Lux, she’s probably just overwhelmed—”
“Is that the truth?” I cut him off. I don’t care for his excuses. All that matters is what she thinks. My mate.
When she nods, my chest aches.
“Send me home. Please.”
“Take her back to her room,” I bark at Castor.
“Lux,” he starts.
“Take her back and bring us a whore from the party. The blonde one you played with will do.” I don’t want her. When he brings her here I’ll just send her straight back to the party alone, but Eden doesn’t know that. And if it takes me pretending to want another woman to make her admit to herself just how much she wants me, then so be it.
All the colour drains from Eden’s face. “You wouldn’t…”
“You hate me, remember,” I sneer at her. “Why do you care who I spend my night with? If you will not please me, then I’ll find someone who will.”
