I just grin.

She should know by now that everything in Rebel becomes ten times bigger than it starts.

Even a simple fake date.

“You know what’s great about that?” Beckett asks, pulling Andi forward and tucking her against his side. “There are a ton of events and festivals and fun here in Rebel. You should bring Katie and Oliver down here for all of it. We’ll hang out all the time.”

I see Andi pinch him again. And him squeeze her ass.

“It seems that things have really become…big and…fun…here in Rebel since we’ve been gone,” our mom says.

“The word you’re looking for is bonkers,” Andi tells her. “Things here in Rebel are bonkers.”

I laugh, wrap my arm around Lawson. “Don’t worry, we use the term affectionately, Mom,” I say.

Beckett kisses Andi’s cheek loudly.

“Sure, we do,” Andi mutters.

CHAPTER 25

SUTTON

“Wait, you were making this casserole that morning when Lawson came over?” Beckett asks, pausing mid-bite of the chicken fajita casserole. “And then you had to pretend that you were not making it for him and Brewser because he didn’t know you were the one bringing food over to his house yet?”

I shrug. “Yep.”

They were all just marveling over how I keep coming up with new casseroles, and I told them that this one had actually been in the rotation previously.

“The girls had to eat it for lunch the next day,” I say, grinning at Nora.

“I did think that was weird,” she says, scooping up a big bite of chicken and cheese.

“The cinnamon rolls I ate at your place that morning were the same ones you brought to me and Brewser right?” Lawson asks.

I giggle. It’s kind of fun having all of this out in the open now. And proving that I had been a decent stalker, at least for a few days.

“Yes,” I confess. “That whole morning I was sure you were on to me.”

He nods. “I thought I was too. And then I would second-guess myself. It was the pans. You had the same pans in your kitchen that kept showing up in mine.”

“Those pans are the same ones everyone buys from the grocery store,” I tell him.

Patty shakes her head. “Not anymore. Someone bought everything they had and when they re-ordered, they got a new pattern.”

I look at Lawson and start laughing. “Okay, so that was actually a clue. You just didn’t know it.”

“You told me everyone bought the same pattern at the store,” he says.

I shrug. “I thought everyone did.”

“Well, she finally snuck in the house at night, as herself, and he definitely figured out who she was,” Brewser says, lifting his iced tea glass.

I look at him quickly, my eyes wide. “What?” I shoot my brother a look, then glance at my mother. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Brewser chuckles. “Oh, we’re not gonna go back to lying and covering up, are we?”

Beckett looks at me with narrowed eyes. “You snuck out of the house and came over here in the middle of the night?”
