“What an interesting coincidence,” he commented with a smile.

God, how did he know her?

“But I'm sure you don't know that Larissa is my twin sister.”

I tried not to let the grin on my lips look too mocking as the color drained from her face.

“Your... twin... sister...” she stammered, and I didn’t miss that she gave Tristan a quick glance.

Well, she hadn't expected that.

But Olivia quickly recovered.

And I just came to the dawning realization that she now knew my father.

“You two are so alike, you must have been friends,” Miles laughed.

We both stared at my brother with blank expressions.

What the...

Not only were Olivia and I laughing like two lunatics, but David also had to stifle a grin next to me.

My laughter was close to resembling noises of a dying animal, and I would have liked to punch Miles in the face for putting me in the same category as her, but I held it back.

“Friends is a good way to describe it,” Olivia said suddenly, and I immediately understood what she was aiming for.

That sneaky little bitch.

She didn’t want Miles to find out what a pain in the ass she had been to me. That gave me hope that she would keep my secrets to herself too.

She turned to Miles, smiling at him.

“Would you show me my apartment?”

“Of course,” he replied as if he were her lapdog, picking the two suitcases he had set down for a moment back up.

I didn't dare ask how they knew each other, but I was sure I'd find out soon enough. It was obvious that the two of them got along way too well.

But what was she doing here? How had she become one of us? In Sacramento?

Like… What the actual fuck?

Olivia disappeared into the house with my brother, leaving the three of us on the steps.

David smiled at me amusedly, and I thought I heard Adrian sigh.

“Do me a favor and keep your private drama out of clan affairs.”

Adrian gave me a last dismissive glance before turning away from me and strutting through the grand entrance hall to the stairs as if he were James Bond.

Asshole.
