“You're scaring me, freak!” she hissed and disappeared up the stairs.
Did she really think she could run away from me?
Suddenly, the door behind me flew open.

I had just hoped not to run into anyone and to be able to change my lens as quickly as possible.
Now I was standing here, on the doorstep, and everyone present, except Julie, was staring at me as if I were the absolute last person they would have expected to see.
These bitches looked like they had just started messing with her, which led me to conclude I had shown up at exactly the right moment.
I entered the ground floor without taking my eyes off Vivienna and her friends when suddenly it cracked under my black leather boots.
What the hell had happened here?
The whole room was icy, reflecting every little bit of light, no matter where you looked.
“This bitch is all we needed,” Amber muttered in frustration.
Behind her, a few steps away, where the staircase curved and disappeared behind the wall, Kelly seemed to be hiding. At least I heard another frantic heartbeat coming from that direction.
Amber and Vivienna stared frantically between Julie and me, so my gaze wandered back to Julie.
“Are you able to handle them?”
Julie looked at me, her eyes a glowing gray-blue, which made her look like a beautiful ethereal creature. Her straight hair was disheveled, a loose strand hung in her face, and her hands were clenched into fists.
The ice everywhere must have been her doing.
Julie didn’t respond to my question. It was as if she were absent-minded, and I immediately felt a wave of concern wash over me.
“Julie...”
“Stay away from us!” Amber snapped, and I glared at her angrily.
“One wrong word and I'll be on you faster than you can count to three.”
“You would never...” Vivienna began, but I interrupted her with a dark smirk.
“I'm not really into rules, you know?”
Kelly's face peeking out from behind the wall filled with panic. “Let's go, Vi...”
Before anything else could happen, I darted over to Julie and touched her wrist, which was covered with a thin layer of ice.
She flinched and her eyes returned to normal.
There was a crack. And another. And finally, with a loud clatter, it started to rain ice shards.
Amber freaked out loudly, Grace fled under the dining room table, and the three inseparable girls rushed upstairs.
