My whole body was tense, ready to catch even the slightest wrong move from this Ruisangor and knock her out if necessary.

“Of course, big boy,” she laughed softly and walked around her motorcycle.

I stepped up to the motorcycle and clawed at her seat.

“What did you just call me?” I asked in a low voice.

“Big boy,” she repeated with a hostile look at my hands on her motorcycle. “Or should I correct myself?” She looked up. “Little boy?”

I felt my transformation setting in, and she noticed it too, because she stared into my eyes.

The loud screech of tires snapped us both out of our trance.

Confrontation

Christopher Tyng

A matte gray Lamborghini sped across the parking lot, people dodging out of the way, then slid far too cleanly into a damn tight spot five meters away.

Larissa turned her back on me and approached the car, helmet in hand.

The driver's door opened and Miles got out with a rush.

Immediately, more people began to murmur.

“Shit, Miles,” Larissa exclaimed, walking around his car, her gaze fixed on the matte paintwork, across which my little gift to the Legacy stretched. “What the hell have…”

Miles spotted me, his hand darted into his coat pocket, and he pushed Larissa aside, who stared after him in shock.

His gaze was burning with rage.

Far too fast, his elegant hand movements sent four silver flashes shooting through the air, narrowly missing me. Behind me, loud, unpleasant noises rang out.

Larissa's hand flew to her mouth. “Oh my God!”

Girls in the background began to scream and people backed away.

Miles stopped. One last throwing knife glinted menacingly in his lowered hand.

He raised the index finger of his other hand. Dark strands that had escaped from his man bun fell into his face, making him look more menacing, and I thought I saw red flashing in his eyes.

“Hands off my car, mutt,” he muttered with such menacing calm that I could literally feel the static in the silence around us.

I turned to my motorcycle, and the horror I had expected was confirmed.

Four shiny metal blades were stuck in the machine. One in the front tire, one in the rear tire, and two in the fairing itself.

My clenched fists cramped painfully. A fire ignited in my chest.

Slowly, I turned back to Miles, who was smirking as he spun the knife in his hand.

“You miserable bastard!” I blurted out and lunged forward but was pulled back by several hands.

“Wow, calm down,” I heard Hunter say behind me.

Suddenly, Emely was standing in front of me. “Kieran!”

“Get out of the way, Emely!” I pressed out, annoyed that she was simply turning her back to a Ruisangor. “He's behind you!”
