My fingers are shaking as I grip the sink. I say, “That my husband likes dick. Romeo’s dick, to be specific.”
Harper’s cheeks go bright red, and now I know Romeo wasn’t bullshitting.
“Harper, I need you to tell me the truth. Is Colten in a relationship with Romeo behind my back? Is he pretending to like me to screw me over? I need to know so I can get out of this mess.”
She blinks at me, shaking her head. “N-no. That last bit isn’t true? What do you mean?”
I run my hands through my hair. God, I need a cigarette. Or twenty. Maybe even a joint.
“So they are together?”
“No. They were never a real couple, G. From what Ace told me, Colten is—I think he described it as sexually free.”
“What in the fuck does that mean?”
“He fucks women… and men sometimes.”
“So, he’s bisexual?”
She laughs nervously. “Yeah.”
He failed to mention that to me. Now it makes sense why he answered my question in the Greek cellar so easily. Of course he’d fuck a guy. He already does.
I blow out a breath, gripping the edge of the sink and tipping my head down. Am I some kind of laughing stock to them all?
I’ve hurt Harper, and although she says she forgives me, she’s always going to side with them over me.
I’m back to square one. All I have is Dom.
“Are you okay, G?” Harper asks cautiously.
I want to smash this mirror off the wall is how I want to answer.
“Yeah.” I snap my head up, looking at my dark eyes in the mirror. “I’m fine,” I repeat it to make it true.
“I’ll meet you back out there; I need to pee,” I tell her, opening the door.
She wraps her arm around my shoulder and rests her head against me.
“You don’t have to pretend with me, G. It’s a shock, but I promise on my life that as far as I’m aware, Colten and Romeo are nothing but sex. He’s not conspiring against you.”
I swallow and nod my head, forcing a smile at her through the mirror. That’s why Romeo is always lingering around the ranch. It’s not business. He’s after my husband. “It’s fine. Colten can fuck who he wants; it doesn’t matter.”
She pulls away. “You like him, don’t you?”
“Maybe I liked the idea of him, Harper. But I’m better off alone; no one can stab me in the back then.”
She glances down at the ground, then back at me. “I think you’re wrong. But why don’t you ask him for the truth? He can explain himself better than I can.”
I don’t respond. I let her leave and lock the door behind her. I need two minutes to recompose myself and bring back the real Gianna.
Shaking my head, I try to push out the thoughts of Colten and Romeo together. I squeeze my thighs as an overwhelming heat burns through me. I should not be turned on thinking about my husband fucking another guy, because let’s face it, I know exactly how it goes.
Romeo is like me. He wants to escape his own head. And Colten provides that.
I need to figure out if whatever it is between them is more than sex. And I need to find out now before I spiral and end up murdering my own husband.
I will not be made a fool of. I’m already a pawn in my father’s game; I won’t be in Colten’s.
