He grabs another tote from the top shelf, immediately back to business, but my lips are still tingling from that kiss and I can’t help but watch the way his muscles flex and move as he opens the tote and finds more of my decor. After he sets the second tote on the first one and picks them both up, he turns to me.
“Why don’t you take these down to the Jeep and I’ll get any others so we can get out of here?”
I nod, grabbing the photo frames that fell on the floor at some point during our moment together and set them on top of the totes before taking everything from him. “Okay.”
Leaving him in the closet, I carry the totes down to my Jeep with a giant smile on my face the entire way.
That kiss.
Wow.
Just wow.
My mind is absolute mush in the best possible way because that damn kiss was everything I hoped it would be and more.
Also, I desperately want to do it again.
Kiss a man just because you feel like it.
Oh, well thank you, Morgan. I think I will.
It felt so goddamn good to just take what I wanted.
And God, the way he kissed me back…
There is no doubt in my mind anymore that the attraction I’ve been feeling is one thousand percent mutual. I didn’t imagine it. I wasn’t so deprived of affection that I conjured the whole thing up in my mind.
He wants me.
Okay, so where the hell do we go from here?
Footsteps sound from behind me and I glance over my shoulder as Dalton cuts through the grass carrying the last of my totes. He meets my eyes and his tongue darts out, wetting his bottom lip like he can still taste me there.
A shiver runs down my spine.
Good Lord, I’m in so much trouble.
“You sure there’s nothing else?”
I shake my head. “I’m leaving everything else behind.”
After we get the totes loaded up in the back of the Jeep, Dalton holds his hand out. “Keys.”
“What?” I ask, staring at him like he’s lost his damn mind. I never let anyone else drive my beloved Jeep. But he just stares at me with his damn hand out.
“Keys, babe.”
I truly don’t know what the hell comes over me.
Maybe my brain isn’t functioning after that kiss.
Maybe it’s the way he looks at me with those damn blue eyes of his.
But I hand my keys over to him and he grins.
“Thank you.”
I roll my eyes. “Sure, cause you gave me an option, right?”
