It’s been a minute since I updated her. But with everything going on, it was all just so crazy.

I’ve been a little busy, ya know?

I flash her a sheepish grin and her eyes narrow at me.

“Well, he did ask me to move in with him.”

Her jaw drops. “I’m sorrrrryyyy.”

Oh, here we go.

Full dramatic Morgan is about to take effect.

“When did this happen?”

“Last night,” I tell her and she falls back in her seat, her eyes wide again as she stares at me.

“And you said?”

I shrug. “I told him that I needed to think about it.”

“Why on fucking earth would you do that?” she asks, looking at me like I’ve lost my damn mind. I shrug again, playing with the edge of the blanket in my lap.

“Why would I not, Morgs?” I blow out a breath and drop my head back, staring at the ceiling. “This has all happened so fast.”

She scoffs. “And? What’s your point here?”

“Maybe it’s too soon.” With a sigh, I lower my chin and meet her gaze as she shakes her head at me.

Yep.

She definitely thinks I’m crazy.

“Have you lost your damn mind?” She holds up her hand and begins counting on her fingers. “One, that man adores you. Two, you’re crazy about him. Three-”

“Yeah, but what if…” I say, cutting her off before my words trail off.

What is it?

What am I so afraid of?

My thoughts turn to Owen and I shudder as I remember the way I started to disappear toward the end of the that relationship. What if that happened again?

“What if I lost myself?”

She jerks back at my response. “In Dalton?”

I nod.

She smirks.

“Doesn’t sound like a bad way to go.”

“Morgie,” I gasp, laughter tumbling out of me as she wags her eyebrows salaciously. “That’s not what I meant.”

With a smile still on her face, she nods. “I know. But Len, you’re not the same woman you were two months ago. Hell, even a month ago. And that is all because of you. You were already changing before you left Owen or met Dalton. You won’t lose yourself again.”

I take a breath as her words echo through my mind. Memories of the end of my relationship with Owen come back to me.
