“Lennon,” I yell. The sound of the front door opening sends me back to the stairs. I practically throw myself halfway down them. Jumper and Gear are looking through the kitchen.

“Where is she, fucker?”

Jumper looks up. “What the fuck do you mean?”

“I mean,” I growl, running down the rest of the stairs to the kitchen. “She’s not fucking here.”

“Brother,” he says, holding his hands up again. “I swear, I brought her here. She was on the couch when I left.”

The fuck?

I head back up the stairs to the bedroom. The bed is still made from this morning and I run into the attached bathroom but she’s not there either.

She’s gone?

How?

When?

“Owen,” I hiss, pulling my phone out of my pocket and dialing Streak’s number.

“What’s up?” he answers on the third ring.

“Owen got on the property.”

He scoffs. “No, he fucking didn’t.”

“Well, Lennon is gone and I can’t think of anyone else with any reason to take her. Can you?”

He sighs. I hear a door close on the other end of the line and then, he’s typing. “I’m telling you, man. There is no fucking way that Owen snuck past all my fucking security - which, by the way, is fucking impossible - and took your girl right from under our noses.”

“Check the goddamn cameras.”

“What the fuck do you think I’m doing, asshole.”

I hold my breath as I wait for him to tell me what I already know.

Somehow, someway, Owen snuck onto this property and took my girl from me.

And that promise I made him yesterday?

I’m about to fulfill it.

“Dude, she drove right out the front fucking gate,” he finally says and my knees give out. I sink onto the bed and suck in a breath.

“What?”

“Yeah,” he says. “Twenty fucking minutes ago. I’ll send you the footage.”

I hang up without saying another word and a second later, my phone dings with a text. I pull it up and start the video. Sure as shit, Lennon drives right out the front gate in her red Jeep.

Joe.

Closing the video, I pull up his number and press the phone to my ear.

“Rooster?” he answers.

“Why the fuck didn’t you tell anyone that Lennon left the compound?” I growl, shoving myself back to my feet as I begin pacing at the end of the bed.
