Storm looks around the room before his gaze lands on Hawk again. “We’re interested. Get us more information.”
“You got it, Pres,” he answers, nodding.
I glance down at my phone again.
Lennon is sitting on the couch, flipping through channels on the tv.
She’s restless.
And scared.
But also completely fucking annoyed that she can’t just go on living her life.
“Where are we on Lennon’s case?” Storm asks and my head snaps up, turning to look at Streak, who shakes his head.
“I’ve gone through the cameras at Voodoo and nobody stands out to me. There were lots of people at the bar so I couldn’t even see Lennon set her drink down. Anyone could have slipped the drug in.” He sighs, plopping his elbows on the table in front of him. “I got the full report on her bloodwork back from Doc and it confirms she was drugged with GHB.”
Motherfucker.
It never gets easier to hear that shit.
“It’s a good thing y’all called Doc that night and had her blood run, otherwise we probably never would have caught it. GHB leaves the system pretty fucking fast.”
I shake my head. “It’s gotta be Owen.”
“We don’t know that,” Storm says, shooting me a look. “And you’re not gonna go raising hell unless we do know, for sure.”
“Who else would it fucking be?”
He arches a brow, challenging me with just a look. “It could be fucking anyone, Rooster. That’s the goddamn point and until we have concrete evidence, you are not gonna do a fucking thing about it.”
My breath hisses between my teeth as I glance back down at my phone.
Lennon isn’t on the living room camera anymore and my heart jumps into my throat as I flick through the others. My body sags when I find her on the bedroom cam. She’s digging through her closet but doesn’t pull anything out or put anything else on.
What is she doing?
“Where was Owen on the night of the drugging?” Henn asks and I look up. Streak clicks on another map with dots all over it.
“He was at home.” He says, gesturing to the screen. “Or, at least, his phone and his truck were.”
I shake my head. “That doesn’t mean he wasn’t there.”
“Agreed. But I can’t prove he was right now,” Streak says, meeting my eyes. “I’m working on it, though.”
“So, what do we do about Lennon?” Jumper asks and I turn to look at him. He’s watching me like I’m two seconds away from going crazy.
Hell, maybe I am.
“I’ll be with her.”
A couple of the guys turn to look at Storm and I follow suit. He can object all he fucking wants but I’m doing this and no amount of respect for him or this club will stop me. Leaning back in his seat, he studies me and then nods.
“That’s fine. You two have a relationship already so it makes sense.” He huffs out a laugh. “Besides, I think if we’d kept her cooped up here in this clubhouse for another second, she’d rival Hyde.”
I roll my eyes. “Fuck off.”
He’s not wrong though.
