“Let’s see,” Dr. Greene interrupts. “I estimate that you are about five weeks along so that makes your due date January tenth.”

“Is there anything we need to do? Anything she needs?” Nix asks, seeming really nervous all of the sudden and I have to bite back a giggle.

“I’ll give you some information to take home and there are all sorts of books you can buy if you want.”

“Okay. Thanks, Doc.”

After she leaves the room, I wipe the gel off of my belly. When I sit up on the exam table, he pulls me into his arms, clutching me to him.

“I’m insanely happy right now.” He leans away and the huge grin on his face makes the tears well up again.

“I can tell.”

“Come on, let’s go get that information and get you home.”

He sets me on the floor and I gather up my things. Loud giggling takes over my body as I think about telling my dad and brothers about this.

“What’s so funny, gorgeous?” Nix asks, wrapping his arms around me from behind.

“You have to tell my brothers,” I answer, still laughing, and his body jerks behind me.

“Shit!”
