“How was your day?” I asked, cutting into my own steak.

“Long,” he said, his voice that deep rumble that always sent shivers down my spine. He took a bite, nodding approval. “Meetings. Deals that needed closing. You know how it is.” His eyes flicked to the lace peeking from under my robe. “This is excellent by the way. You’ve been practicing.”

I laughed softly, sipping my wine. “I have. I’m trying to get better at the fancy stuff so I can keep surprising you. Who knows, maybe one day I will be able to cook you a whole feast without burning anything.”

He gave a low chuckle, but it sounded distracted. “Keep this up and I might never leave.”

“This house is beautiful but quiet. I went to the beach earlier, I watched the waves for a while. I was thinking about you.” My foot brushed his leg under the table. “I wondered when you would get back so I could do this.”

Richard’s smirk returned and he reached across to trace a finger along my wrist. “Missed being under me, huh?”

“Every day,” I admitted, heat rising in my cheeks. I leaned in a little, letting the robe slip open just a fraction more. “But it’s more than that. I found this new restaurant in town the other day when I was at the market. It was an Italian place with a view of the water. I thought we could go together sometime. Maybe next week if you’re not too busy.”

He chewed slowly, eyes narrowing slightly as he considered it. “Next week might be tight. I have a lot of things wrapping up. We’ll see.”

I smiled anyway, pushing forward gently. “And you mentioned Tahoe before. Any chance we could get up there soon? I keep picturing us in one of those cabins. The snow, big fireplace, just the two of us for a few days.”

I bit my lip imagining it. Nights tangled up together under heavy blankets, waking up to snowy mountain views.

Richard paused, fork hovering over his plate for a moment. “Tahoe… I don’t know. My schedule is pretty full right now. Maybe later in the season if things calm down.”

I laughed lightly, trying to keep the warmth alive even as a small flicker of uncertainty brushed through me.

“I just like having you here. These days feel longer when you’re out there doing whatever you do. But when you walk through that door everything feels right again.” I kept it light, letting the hint hang there without pushing too hard. “Makes me want more nights like this. More time where it’s just you and me.”

The conversation stayed easy on the surface, but his hesitations lingered in the back of my mind. Still, I let myself sink into the fantasy, loving every second of pretending we were a normal couple building something lasting.

“Glory Box” by Portishead began playing through the stereo. Richard’s eyes darkened. He pushed his plate aside and pulled me onto his lap right there at the table. His large hands roamed over me. One gripped my ass and spanked me lightly while the other slid up to cup my breast through the sheer fabric, his thumb circling my nipple until I moaned.

“You wore this for me,” he growled against my neck, teeth grazing my skin. I could feel how hard he was, already thick and pressing right against my core. “All day waiting in lingerie cooking dinner like my good girl. You know what that does to me.”

I rocked against him slowly, my pinned up hair starting to loosen as I tilted my head back.

“I thought about you the whole time. Touching myself earlier imagining your hands instead. Your mouth. The way you fill me up.” My voice came out breathy and needy the way it always did when he had me like this. “I missed the way you grab me. The way you make me forget everything else.”

Dinner was completely forgotten. Richard shoved the plates aside with one powerful sweep of his arm, silverware clattering loudly across the table and a few pieces tumbling to the floor. He lifted me fully onto the dining table like I weighed nothing, my ass hitting the cool wood surface. He stood between my spread thighs so tall and commanding. Those large hands gripped my hips hard, fingers digging in possessively as he leaned in and kissed me deep and rough, tongue claiming my mouth like he owned it.

I moaned into him, my legs wrapped tight around his waist pulling him closer. The ocean crashed rhythmically outside the glass walls while the moonlight danced on the waves, but all I could focus on was him. His heat, his strength, the thick heavy bulge of his cock pressing right against my aching needy core through his pants. He still made me desperate every single time.

His fingers hooked under the edge of the lace bodysuit tugging it aside roughly. I was soaked already dripping for him, my body ready and aching. “Right here?” I gasped arching my back as two thick fingers slid deep into me, curling just right against that spot that made my toes curl.

“Right here,” he growled against my lips, his free hand tangling in my pinned up hair loosening more pins so strands fell messily around my face. “I’ve been thinking about this all day. Fucking you on this table.”

He pulled his fingers out and shoved them between my lips. “Clean them.”

I obeyed instantly, sucking them deep, tongue swirling, eyes locked on his. He pushed them deeper, fucking my mouth with his fingers. I gagged softly around his knuckles, spit dripped down my chin, then he pulled them free.

“Good fucking girl.”

I reached for his belt with shaking eager fingers desperate to free him to feel him stretch and fill me. My eyes locked on his as I worked the leather open. That was when I saw it. The flash of silver on his left ring finger. A wedding band. Gleaming under the candlelight.

My hand froze mid motion. Everything inside me went still.

I grabbed his wrist and held his hand up between us staring at the ring like it was some kind of cruel joke. “What is this?”

Richard paused. He glanced at the ring with zero emotion. “I forgot to take it off.”

My heart slammed violently against my ribs. The heat flooding my body turned ice cold in an instant.
