I didn’t respond. Anger crawled over my skin like thorns, tightening my muscles. Nico thought I was bluffing, failing to understand why I was the enforcer for the Sons of Sin biker club. I was ruthless, efficient, and a beacon for violence. I had nothing to lose, so if I had to resort to tapping into morally black areas to get what I wanted, I wouldn’t hesitate.
Viper dropped the pliers on the desk, the object resounding through the basement with a loud thud.
Nico shifted fearfully in his seat. “What the fuck is that?”
My lips almost twitched, but I didn’t let them. My favorite part was watching them beg for mercy and feeling the confidence in their eyes drain away as they realized I was the Devil himself.
I had dealt with tougher bastards before. Nico didn’t count. He was just a scared little fucker trying to mask his fear with intimidation.
“We are going to play a little game, Nico,” I murmured, picking up the pliers. “I’ll ask you ten more times. Every time you refuse to give me the answer I want, I’ll pull out a fingernail.”
“W-what?”
I grabbed his wrists, feeling nothing stir within me as he jerked. The tip of the pliers went on one of his fingernails, and I ripped it out without mercy. His bloodcurdling scream rippled through the room. A drop of his blood splattered on my face. Although it was for a fleeting moment, feeling the warmth of his blood on my face made me feel alive.
“Nine more times, Nico.”
He panted, glancing at Viper as though he could help me. The lean, dark-haired male shifted backward, raising his hands in mock surrender.
“Don’t look at me, Nicky boy,” he teased. “Tell Graves what he wants to know, and you’ll be out of here by dawn.”
That was a lie, but okay. Viper had a flawless talent for being deceptive, and that was one of the reasons he was a Sons of Sin member.
“Who are you working for?”
He grunted. “No one.”
“Okay.”
I pulled out another fingernail.
He wheezed, thrashing. “Fuck!”
“Give me what I want.”
Nico infiltrated the Sons and had been spying on us for weeks. It was unnoticeable at first, but he slipped, and I caught on to him. We set a trap for the little fucker and suspected he was working for a rival club, the Phantom Riders. He wouldn’t give up any useful information, no matter how many times I had tortured him.
“You don’t understand—”
I grabbed his throat. “I don’t care.”
“I can’t ... I can’t say anything.”
“Well, we’ll see how well you hold up when I skin your girlfriend and sister alive,” I said coldly.
He stiffened.
Leverages. They always did the trick.
He jerked violently in his seat. “Don’t—don’t hurt them.”
“Give me what I want.”
His eyes landed on me, wild with horror and disgust. “You are a monster. How could you bring innocent people into this?”
“I don’t play fair.”
“I’ll tell you everything.”
