“But you really know how to piss me off sometimes,” he growled. “What the fuck was that?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You were flirting with Hayes.”
“No!”
His grip tightened on my hair. “Don’t lie to me, Wren.”
“No, I swear. I wasn’t. I’d never do that.” My voice trembled.
He spun me around, making sure I was facing the mirror. His hands raked my body greedily, as he sniffed me in, groaning like an animal. “Fuck, you drive me crazy. You know that, right?”
I nodded, whimpering.
He cupped my ass, planting kisses across my shoulder. I knew what was coming. I had gotten so used to his pattern. He’d shower me with obsessive and maniacal attention before he struck.
“Derek, I wasn’t flirting with him.”
“You’re lying,” he murmured against my hair.
“Did you want him to fuck you?” He grabbed my throat, choking me until my lungs started burning. “You fucking whore,” he growled. “I have given you everything, but you’d rather throw yourself at other men every time you get the chance.”
I whimpered, trying to fight his grip off my neck.
When he turned me around, his face reeked of nothing but malice.
“You can’t leave me, Wren. You’d be nothing without me.” His voice hardened.
My lips trembled as I tried to evade his gaze. But he smacked me across the face, and I screamed.
He seized my throat in his grip again. “You will look at me when I’m talking to you.”
I didn’t know where the strength came from, but I raised my leg and kneed him in the balls. He groaned, toppling over the stool.
I could barely stand on my feet, but I blindly grabbed my phone and purse.
“Wren, get back here!”
I dashed out of the room like a rabid dog, doing the one thing I should have done all these years.
I ran.
Chapter Two

“I won’t ask again.”
Nico’s chest heaved as he panted. “I don’t have anything to say to you, Graves. Piss off.”
My jaw clenched hard as I grabbed him by the head. “You’ll talk.”
“No, I won’t.”
Viper, one of my men and fellow bikers, descended from the stairs that led down to the bloody basement. The creaking of the door let in rays of light from the clubhouse above us, flickering over Nico’s bloodied, battered face. His face was coated in sweat from the intensive torture I had subjected him to all day.
“Has he said anything?”
