“Calla,” I say gently.
She looks at me.
“Whatever happens next, I need you to remember something.”
Her expression changes.
“You are the most extraordinary creature I’ve ever known.”
She shakes her head.

I smile.
“I haven’t said anything yet.”
“I know that look.”
My chest tightens.

Hypnos raises his hand.
The chains tighten.
“Enough.”
I look at my father.

Calla slams her fists against the invisible wall.
