The kiss is warm, slow, and devastatingly thorough.
His hand settles against my cheek.
He makes a low sound in his throat.
Then pulls back just enough to look at me.
“Zeus’s balls.”
I blink. “Excuse me?”
“An expression of profound frustration, little mortal.”
“You couldn’t just say damn like a normal person?”
“I am not a normal person.”
“Believe me, I’ve noticed.”
I smile.
“So the kiss was good?”
He stares at my lips.
“I’ve imagined that sensation a million times.”
“And?”
“Not one of those imaginings came close.”
My heart does something embarrassingly tender.
Then he grins.
“I fear you have created a very demanding god.”
I slide my fingers into his damp hair.
“Sweetheart, you were demanding before I kissed you.”
“True.”
He lowers his mouth again.
“But now I have considerably more incentive.”
And when he kisses me a second time, the lights flicker, the windows rattle, and somewhere in the hallway, a picture frame crashes to the floor.
Fantastic.
Apparently, my new roommate comes with supernatural side effects.
