This was something… intimate.
Very, very intimate.
“I don’t mind. But again, only if you’re comfortable.” Damon sounded sincere.
She could really use the help.
The words just sort of sprang up on their own, blooming before she could even stop them.
“Yes, please.”
Tessa was a bundle of nerves as Damon stepped closer to stand over her, and that dimpled smile and twinkle in his dark eyes had her almost losing it.
What he said next had her nearly passing out.
“Just relax, little girl. Daddy’s here. I’ll handle everything.”
Chapter Thirteen
Damon regretted the words.
It wasn’t that he didn’t like Tessa or couldn’t imagine being her Daddy.
Neither was the case at all! He was actually surprised at how fast and easy their friendship was coming.
That part about being her Daddy… well, that kind of surprised him too.
Because he could see it happening. That is, if he wasn’t madly in love with Lissa and trying to win her back.
But Tessa deserved better than that. It wasn’t fair for her to be anyone’s consolation prize. She was too good for that.
What she deserved was a Daddy who would be wholeheartedly committed to her. One who would put her on the pedestal she rightly belonged on.
A Daddy who wasn’t still hung up on his ex.
Rein that Daddy talk in, Damon. This is all for show. Remember? Don’t string her along.
“Sorry. Just getting into character.”
“Of course. Method acting and all that.”
He chuckled. “Yep.”
He went about his task, trying to appear as if it was the most mundane thing ever. The front of the diaper was already pulled up, covering Tessa, so all he had to do was position the four tapes just right.
“Almost got it,” he said.
Once the diaper was secure, he couldn’t resist stepping back and drinking in the sight of her.
Damn. Tessa was a cutie with a capital C.
“Could you be any more adorable?”
The sound of her sweet giggle made him forget that Lissa was most likely in one of the other dressing rooms.
But only for a moment.
“I’ll turn back around and let you get dressed. Then we can hit up the playground. That is, if you’re still okay with all this.”
