Cold’s eyes were gentle, full of light and warmth, and he softly squeezed Jimmy’s throat as he slid his thumb along his jawline. “It means I love you, Jimmy.”

Jimmy’s heart stopped. “You… you said…”

“Je t’aime aussi,” Cold said quietly, “is how you say I love you too. In case you were wondering.”

“Juhhh tim, oh-seee,” Jimmy replied carefully, trying to imitate Cold’s flawless accent.

Cold leaned in for another kiss, chuckling. “Close enough.”

Chapter twenty-six

Epilogue

“So, uh.” Jimmy coughed, unable to stop grinning as warmth bubbled through every inch of his body. He was so happy that he was practically vibrating, and he wanted to jump on Cold this very second. “Wanna teach me some more French? Like, right now? Upstairs with all our clothes off?”

Something about hearing Cold say I love you put Jimmy in a very amorous mood—okay, yes, he hadn’t technically said it plainly in English, but he still had said it, even if it was another language. Enough for it to count in Jimmy’s mind anyway.

“Later.” Cold gave Jimmy’s throat one last squeeze before letting go. “Eat your breakfast.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Food first.” Cold’s gaze heated up, and he smirked at Jimmy over the rim of his coffee cup. “You’ll need your strength.”

“Oh?” Jimmy picked up a piece of bacon. While making direct eye contact with Cold, he ran his tongue over the end and then sucked on it lightly. He moaned softly, as if savoring the rich taste of the grease.

Cold didn’t blink, watching calmly as he took a sip of coffee.

Jimmy continued to suck on the bacon and push it deeper into his mouth. He loved the way Cold was looking at him right now, and he could feel himself growing hard in his sweats.

Heat simmered between them, and it held the promise of fantastic sex, warm snuggles, and Jimmy likely not being able to walk straight for a few hours. He wasn’t often this impatient, but he wanted Cold so badly that he was prepared to drop to his knees right there on the kitchen floor.

He had never tried to seduce Cold.

Cold was always the one who called the shots, after all.

Even so, there was such a thrill in seeing Cold shift in his seat, the tension growing in the muscles across his shoulders, and feeling the palpable rise in temperature.

Because Jimmy had done that.

Just Jimmy.

He was the one affecting Cold with nothing more than pretending to fellate a piece of bacon.

It was a strange and heady feeling to consider that for all of Cold’s intense domination, it was, in fact, Jimmy who possessed the real power here.

“Would you like to pick a safe word, Mr. Poe?” Cold asked suddenly.

“Whah?” Jimmy quickly chewed and swallowed the bacon. “You mean right now?” He looked around. “In the… kitchen?”

“Yes.”

“Really?”

“Is that a problem?”

“No.” Jimmy shivered. “Not a problem at all.”

“So. Safe word?”
