Belladonna’s Nightmare

“Move,” Blade muttered and crouched down. We all looked the other way as Sapphire yanked off her bra and pulled out the underwire.

“Cheers, babe,” Blade murmured.

“Anyone ever visited here?” Sapphire asked. She received a resounding round of nos. “Looks like we’re going to wander around like chickens,” she complained.

“Story of our fuckin’ lives,” Blade grumbled. She bent down and began trying to pick the lock.

“If we escape here…” Sapphire whispered.

Five minutes later, the lock clicked, Blade kicked the door open and walked out first.

“Hey, I’m a cop,” Hatton said, reaching for her. “I take the lead.”

“And I’m the one with the skills to protect us,” Blade retorted. Well, we couldn’t argue with that.

My heart pounded. Our missing sisters still hadn’t made contact, and that was worrying me. Every so often, Hayden ran his hand over my arm, offering strength and reassurance. After twenty minutes of picking locks, hitting dead ends, and backtracking, we finally located Belladonna’s team on the same floor as us.

“This place is a maze,” I complained as we hugged.

“How the hell did you get here?” I demanded, spotting Teddy. His presence made no sense, and then I glanced at Tinkerbell. Maybe it did.

“Don’t know. My last memory is of the party. There was a weird smell, and then I woke up here,” Teddy replied.

“You were kidnapped with us for a reason,” I figured out.

“Yeah. At first, I thought it was a move against my father, not that he’d pay ransom money,” Teddy said with a shrug.

“Belladonna?” Twilight called.

“We’re here!” I exclaimed. “Who’s with you?”

“I’ve got Blue, Storm, Cyber, and Birdie. What the hell happened?” Twilight demanded.

I quickly explained again, and moments passed.

“I think we’re close to you; we can hear noises. We might be a floor above you,” Storm remarked.

“Okay, wait there. We’ll come to you.” I hugged myself. There was still some missing.

“Sapphire,” Hatton stated, and I turned to glare at him. “If Twilight is up there, I bet Fortune and the others are.”

“Let’s check it out,” Wylde said, nodding.

“Twilight, Nun, stay where you are. We’ll try to find Fortune. But pick your lock,” I replied.

“Okay,” they agreed.

“Stick together,” Hatton agreed, as we moved out.

“Any idea how we ended up here?” Hatton asked Cassidy.

“None. It’s obvious it’s a trap. But why bring us here?”

“Yeah, I can’t work that out. This is beyond weird,” Hatton acknowledged.

“And why split us up?” Cassidy wondered.
