Seeing What’s in Front of You

Kassian’s body goes lax once more. He runs his fingers over the back of my hand and I shiver. It’s still so hard to wrap my head around all of this. I thought I would live with this pining forever. I thought I would always be the bro but never the bromance. Apparently we needed Dean to open our eyes to what’s been in front of us this entire time.

“Where’s Dean?”

Kassian sits up slightly before falling back down with an amused huff. He points at the other bed. I lean over his back, looking over and finding Dean sleeping in the other bed.

“What the hell?”

“Maybe we move around in our sleep or something?”

“Maybe he hates us,” I say with a pout.

Kassian snorts. “That’s one option, but let’s not think like that without hearing what he has to say.”

“Fine.”

I tuck my face against his hair. My hand plants itself against his chest. I want to kiss him so badly it makes my chest ache. That’s when I remember I don’t have to hold myself back. I don’t have to pine. I’m allowed to touch him! I’m allowed to kiss him!

After moving Kassian’s hair out of the way, I kiss the side of his throat. He makes a noise, his body shivering in my embrace. I kiss him again, a little higher this time. Then I kiss his jaw.

“Nix,” he gasps out, his ass moving further back, pushing against my pelvis. I push against him in return, humping his backside. “Oh, fuck.”

“Kassian,” I breathe out, my body feeling like a livewire that’s ready to start letting off sparks. “Fuck, I can’t believe I get to do this. I can’t believe I get to have you.”

Kassian turns over, putting a hand around the back of my neck and tugging me down. Our lips connect, more hastily than they did last night. Last night was like finally breathing after holding our breath for too long. It was relief.

Now, we’re allowed to explore. We’re allowed to indulge. We can enjoy this knowing it’s not the last time but the beginning.

“I am so in love with you,” I whisper against Kassian’s lips.

“Bro,” he whispers back with a grin. “I’m like so totally in love with you too.”

“Good. That’s really, really good.”

There’s shuffling on the bed across from us and we both turn over towards Dean. He turns towards us.

“Good morning,” he says, his voice deeper than usual from just waking up.

“Hi,” Kassian says.

I narrow my eyes at him. “Why’d you leave us? You hate us, right?”

“Are you always this dramatic in the morning?”

Kassian nods his head. “He’s not usually much of a morning person. He’s a drama king.”

“Cute,” Dean says, smiling over at us. “I’m not used to sleeping next to anyone. I’ve been alone for fifty years and you’re both like a furnace so I jumped over here once you were both asleep.” Then he quickly adds, “don’t worry, I still very much like you.”

I tuck my face against Kassian’s hair once more, hiding the way I’m grinning from ear to ear. “I want to stay like this forever.”

Kassian sighs. “Unfortunetely, Finn will be knocking on the door soon making sure we’re up and ready to go. We’ve got another meet and greet, Nix.”

“Fuck me,” I murmur against Kassian.

We get out of bed slowly, mourning the fact that we can’t stay here all day. Once Kassian is in the shower, I turn towards Dean. I jump into his bed and give him a good morning kiss, not wanting him to feel left out. He startles, making a surprised noise that I quickly catch with my lips.

His hands wrap around my hips, holding on tight as I kneel in front of him. I kiss him slowly, much slower than I did yesterday. I love learning all these new ways to kiss, all these new ways to touch each other. I can’t wait to explore and learn even more.

“Good morning,” I say again with a grin.
