Caelen stops me before I can.

"Eirea."

"What?"

"Containment kit tomorrow." Rhyven says it before Caelen can. I look between them. Caelen looks annoyed. Apparently that was going to be his line.

"Yes." I say. "Anything else?"

"Breakfast." Rhyven adds. I stare. Caelen looks toward him. No. Absolutely not. I am not doing this.

I point toward the door. "I'm leaving."

"Good." Rhyven says. Infuriating.

I make it into the corridor. Then hear footsteps behind me. Rhyven. I keep walking. He catches up easily. Of course.

"Your patrol changed."

I look at him. "Again?"

"Temporarily."

"Why."

"You're off tonight."

I stop. "No."

He stops too. "Yes."

"Why."

"You trained injured yesterday."

"I'm bruised."

"You trained three hours this morning."

"I survived."

"You have combat assessment this afternoon."

"I know."

"And village operations tomorrow."

"Library."

"Outside the wards." There. That's the actual point.

I fold my arms. "You don't decide when I'm capable."

"Correct."

"Then put me back."

"Vayne removed you." I stare. Rhyven hands me a folded roster. My name is crossed out. Professor Vayne's initials beside it. Damn.
