“What? I’m curious.”

“So you are having fun with your harem of redheads?”

He laughed. “No.”

“Not even a little?”

He shook his head. “Nope. I’m exactly where I want to be.”

I slid my fingers back to his neck. “Well she’ll be on us in about ten seconds.”

“Better make this look real then,” Jacob said. His hands trailed from my hips to my ass. “Shit,” he said. “I forgot your ass was out.”

I laughed. “Stop it. I know you love it.”

He just chuckled in reply.

Girl #5 was upon us. Her eyes grew round as she stared at Jacob’s hands on my exposed butt.

She cleared her throat. “Hi, um...I think we’re supposed to meet up?”

“Must have been a misunderstanding,” Jacob said. “I have a girlfriend.”

“But...”

“It’s me,” I said. “I’m the girlfriend.”

Girl #5 opened her mouth and closed it again. “Well, I hate to break it to you. But your boyfriend has been flirting with me on a dating app for the past week.”

I pretended to look shocked. “Him?” I pointed up at Jacob. “You’re sure?”

“Positive,” she said.

I made my jaw drop. I knew Jacob said he didn’t want my help. But this was too good of an opportunity to pass up. “Jacob? How could you?”

“What are you doing?” he whispered.

Girl #5 was my second favorite for him. He should really give her a chance. I winked at him and stepped back. “You said you forgave me!” I yelled.

“Forgave you for what?” Girl #5 asked.

I ignored her and slapped Jacob across the face.

He gave me a dirty look.

Perfect. Sell it! “He’s all yours,” I said and walked off.

“Sophie!” he yelled after me.

But this time he let me walk away. I smiled. He liked Girl #5. I could tell.

If Jacob actually found someone new tonight, the party wouldn’t be a total failure. I looked around the crowd. Everyone was having so much fun.

I saw a guy pick a coffee berry and eat it. He scrunched up his face and spit it out. I laughed. I guess they were bitter.

I looked at everyone dancing. Scarlett and Axel looked like the perfect Adam and Eve. Liam and Natalivanka looked drunk as hell and were having the time of their lives. RJ was dancing with some underclassman that was way too hot for him. And Jacob was leaning close to Girl #5, chatting in the middle of the dance floor.

Everyone was paired up.
