“Do you think he’ll play in the second half?” Scarlett asked as the team made their way to the locker rooms.

“I hope so.”

She still looked worried as she stared at Axel’s retreating back.

I knew what she needed. “Let’s go get a hot dog.” I stood up.

She sighed. “You think you can distract me by ordering a hot dog in the weirdest way possible?”

I feigned a shocked expression. “I don’t order hot dogs weird.”

“Sure.”

“Then I’ll skip the relish and just have the cheese sauce. Is it gouda?”

“I don’t think anyone puts gouda on hot dogs.”

“I do.”

“It’s not gouda.”

I scrunched up my nose and Scarlett laughed. “I’ll skip that too then.”

The guy and I just stared at each other.

“What?” I asked.
