“I hear ya. I make less in tips now, but we get a higher amount every shift we work, so it sort of balances out.”
“Sounds nice.”
“The men aren’t allowed to touch us and it’s strictly enforced, so if one does, they get booted. If it’s after hours, you have to be careful. Several of the dancers have had stalkers. I had a creep hanging around a little too much, but I scared the shit out of him and he disappeared.”
She laughs. “That’s awesome. I had a stalker once too, back in high school. My friend’s dad got super creepy with me and started popping up in places I was.”
“Eww, that’s fucked up.”
“Yeah. So I cornered him one day, grabbed his balls and twisted and told him if I saw him again outside of spending time with my friend and his family, I’d ruin his life. It worked.”
I laugh. “You’re a badass. I love it.”
“Gotta take care of yourself out here.”
“Bet.”
The driver pulls onto my street, pausing in front of the apartment building where I live. It’s a shitty building, but it’s what I could afford given the situation.
I pull out my phone and give the driver a nice tip. “Thanks. You take care, huh?”
“You too,” she says.
Walking up the sidewalk to my unit, I glance around looking for any signs of trouble. Sometimes drug deals are happening. Other times, there are troublemakers around. I won’t be a victim. Never again. Now I feel sorry for anyone who fucks with me.
I unlock the door as quietly as possible, then slip inside the quiet apartment. It’s pretty messy in the living room, but that’s not a surprise with four people and a baby living here in our little three-bedroom.
Shelby’s asleep on the couch with Robbie on the floor next to her. He’s sleeping on a bunch of pillows and blankets, which means he probably wet the bed again.
I walk down the hall to one of the bedrooms, finding both my brothers asleep in the double bed I forced in here. I think I’ll get Shelby up to come to my room with Robbie since I won’t be sleeping again. Then I can clean the living room and kitchen while they get some rest.
After I drop my bag, I creep back down the hall then gently shake my cousin awake. She cracks her eyelids open then immediately sits up to check on her son.
“Everything’s good. Go sleep in my bed.”
“No, you need it.”
“I’m good, Shel. I’ll carry Robbie for you.”
She nods sleepily, pulling herself up and shuffling ahead of me while I carry the small three-year-old. I get them settled in my bed then close the door behind me and head back to the living room to get started on the mess. I don’t mind as long as everyone is safe.
I’ll shower once everyone is up, but I kind of like that I still have Whisper’s scent all over me, his cum drying on my skin, his kiss lingering on my tongue. I hope he wasn’t lying to me and that I really will see him again. The fucking was epic.
Life is harder than it should be thanks to my shitty parents, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have nice things on occasion, like a hot guy with a great dick.
I smile at the memory of how awesome he was tonight as I stack dishes in the dishwasher. I knew when I first saw him that I wanted to get closer to him. I’m even more curious now than I was then. What is his living situation? Why does he have work to do in the middle of the night? I didn’t get the sense that he was lying to me, but I can’t figure out what he might be doing unless he’s a baker—unlikely—or a criminal—more likely.
If he’s a criminal, what kind? Doesn’t seem like the Mafia type. Drugs? Hmm, maybe. Ooh, maybe he’s like a cat burglar, breaking into jewelry stores or art galleries. I snicker at that. You never know.
What would he think of me if he knew what my life is like? Would he be turned off? A lot of guys only want the fantasy I offer, not the real stuff. But maybe if Whisper lives an unconventional life too, he wouldn’t turn his nose up at mine.
Shaking my head, I finish up in the kitchen. I’m getting way ahead of myself. I’ll probably never see him again, so I should accept that and not get fixated on something I can never have.
That’s how my life goes. Only bad things, no good, and no sign of that changing any time soon. I can fuck shit up though. I’ve got that going for me.

Whisper
