She laughed. “Daisy has worked wonders on him.”
“And you work wonders on me. I’d love to do the same for you. I don’t want to change you, but I know our lives will be better together.” Ash wrapped a hand around her waist and pulled her closer.
Georgia stared at his tempting mouth. She’d never kissed Ash but now wanted to do nothing but touch those lips against hers.
He’d let her in, and she should do the same. And she needed to. Georgia couldn’t lose this.
Ash growled low in his chest. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
She smiled up at him. “Make-up sex is always the best kind.”
He went to lift her into his arms, but she pressed a hand against his chest and stepped away. “Wait! There’s something I want to try. Something that may be better than hot, sweaty make-up sex.”
“With you, that’s not possible.”
Georgia stepped into his embrace and placed a hand on the back of his neck. Her heart raced as she stared at his mouth.
His forehead wrinkled. “What are you doing?”
“I’m doing this.” She inched closer to his mouth. What would he taste like? Why had she resisted Ash for so long?
His eyes widened, and he sucked in a breath.
Georgia shook her head. “Don’t say anything, or I’ll change my mind.” Her mouth was so close to his that their breaths mingled. She’d fought herself for so long and was convinced what she had with Ash was just a blazing hot time in the sack. There were no emotions involved because life was too complicated for that.
But she’d been fooling herself. All this time, she’d been falling deeper and deeper, and now she was lost. She couldn’t stop herself even if she wanted to.
Georgia brushed her lips gently across Ash’s mouth.
He groaned but made no move to kiss her back.
She touched his lips again with another feather kiss.
Ash wrapped his other arm around her waist, his grip firm and secure, his breath quickening.
Georgia felt a rush of resistance and an urge to flee, but then it was gone, and instead surety and boldness took its place, along with the intense desire never to leave Ash’s embrace again.
Ash didn’t speak. He didn’t move again. His fierce gaze softened, and he opened his mouth a fraction, still keeping her within a safe, welcoming circle of love.
His touch pushed away Georgia’s fears about not being wanted.
She leaned closer until their chests were melded.
Ash lowered his head an inch, and her lips touched his again.
Another soft moan slid from his mouth, but he didn’t push for anything more.
Georgia pressed a finger to those tempting lips, not wanting to forget this moment. She needed to have it seared into her memory. This was the day she finally stopped fighting the one man who loved her, even though she’d dragged him through hell. He’d always stayed right by her side, and she knew he’d be there until the day she died.
The fight left her, and she pressed against Ash, afraid she’d fall if she didn’t have his support.
He caught her elbows and steadied her. “You good?”
Georgia nodded, her throat tight. “I... yeah. You?”
“Always when we’re together. I’m just waiting for your lead.”
She licked her lips. “Why don’t you lead this time?”
