If you’re interested in Blaze, go for it. He’s all yours. Eden sent it before she changed her mind.
That would remove the problem, and she could move on. She’d stop obsessing over Blaze and thinking about the life they’d have together if only unicorns, fairy dust, and all that magical crap was real.
Because it wasn’t. Life was hard. It kicked back, and she’d taken enough kickings to never risk being hurt again.

Blaze kept one eyeon the autopilot as he scrolled through the files his parents had sent him.
The women all sounded great. There was one Apexian who’d graduated top of her class in economics, volunteered for several high-profile charities, and her family was almost as wealthy as his. Plus, she was stunning. It would be no hardship to spend time with her.
It had surprised him that they’d included a file from a half-Apexian half-Human. She had long, silky red hair and purple eyes. He lingered over that file the longest. She sort of reminded him of Eden. She was curvy, had a wicked gleam in her eyes, and had a love for biology.
Maybe this match could work. He’d pick one of these women, get to know them, and if they got on okay, he’d seal the deal. They could match, and everyone would be happy.
Almost everyone.
His parents weren’t miserable in their union, but sometimes he’d sensed a distance between them. They’d both had their struggles over accepting their fate and matching with someone they may like but didn’t love.
It was the easy option, though. And he’d agreed to do it. And it felt less messy. There wouldn’t be clashes or disputes. They would focus their relationship on strengthening alliances and doing good in the Apexian community. That was a worthy thing to do.
Blaze grunted as he dismissed the last file. It was worthy, but it left a bitter taste in his mouth. When he considered matching with any of these women, his heart curled in on itself. It wasn’t enough to fulfill his duty to his parents. He wanted more. He wanted Eden.
He’d kept his distance from her ever since he’d acted like a dumb ass and accused her of only wanting to fuck him now she knew he was a baron. It had been a knee jerk reaction. He was so used to seeing people change when they learned about his connections.
Of course, Eden wouldn’t be like that.
“How’s it going in here?” Eden walked in and settled in the seat next to him in the cockpit.
“We’re fifteen minutes away from the sanctuary. No problems.”
She kept looking forward. “Good. The animals are fine. I’ve been down with them for a while.”
“I wondered where you’d gone.”
“I figured we needed a break from each other.”
He glanced over at her. “About what I said—”
“You were right about me. That’s what I do.”
His heart skipped a beat. “You’d seriously sleep with me because of my status?”
“Most women are impressed by power. Why should I be any different?” She slid him a glare. “Do I need to call you by your formal title?”
“Blaze is fine. Nothing needs to change between us.”
“Whatever you say, my lord.”
He sighed. “Eden, keep this quiet. There’s a reason I don’t go around telling everyone my family are high up in the Apexian community.”
“I won’t go blabbing. I get it. I’m not as dumb as you think I am.”
“I don’t think you’re dumb. I’ve never told you that. You’re clever. And I know how hard you worked to get your qualifications.”
She shrugged. “Sure. Whatever. We’re almost done here. We can sort out the animals and get this mission completed quickly. There’s no reason for us to stay any longer than twenty-four hours.”
“Whatever you think best,” he mumbled.
