“Shut the fuck up, K, if you don’t want me to shut you up.”
“Look.” Killian gave Logan a wide berth. “If you choose me, I promise I’ll never be rough like this beastly—” A fist sliced through the air where his face had been; Killian had leaned away just in time.
Logan grabbed his fist with his other hand and pulled it back.
“My T-man, I thought a mate would be calming for you, but it looks like your blood pressure only rose.”
I stifled a laugh. “That was Lucy.” Gentle Eyes is Logan’s best friend. It made so much sense. “If Rudolph here doesn’t behave, I’ll consider your marriage proposal.”
Logan huffed, steering me to a chair, ignoring Killian’s whistles. “I can’t believe you met my sister and my best friend before me.”
My string of fate had a strange sense of direction. Instead of leading me straight to my mate, it had wandered, taking detours, circling around Logan, and making me collide with his people first.
Coincidence? Maybe.
I giggled, leaning over. “Jealous, Rudy?”
He folded his arms across his chest. “Why should I be?”
“You’re jealous.” I pinched his cheeks. “It’s cute…sometimes.”
His scowl deepened while Killian kept laughing, pounding Logan’s back.
This will be a good night.
CHAPTER TWENTY
YVAINE
“You slept at her apartment,” Logan repeated.
Killian cracked a beer. “Yeah, but I slept with that lioness, Mariana.” He curled his fingers into claws. “Grr! Wouldn’t mind going back for more.”
“Makena,” I corrected him.
“And Sweet Pea, we met again at the wereball match, right before you smacked Thor with an umbrella. Legendary, by the way. There are memes about it.”
I clapped my hands. “We did! You told me to go to the changing rooms to meet your captain!”
Killian threw his head back and laughed.
Logan, sandwiched between us on the couch, rolled his eyes. Until something flashed across his face.
“Bunny Doc!” He turned to me. “I ate your lunch that day! The one Killian brought back from Comet.”
“You did?”
His grin lit up his face. “I didn’t know it was yours, but I loved that weird concoction! Made me happy for the rest of the day.”
The memory resurfaced—Killian in my kitchen, leaving with my lunchbox. “So that was the first meal I cooked for you…”
Logan leaned in to kiss me.
Killian gagged. “Somebody give me a bucket!”
Without looking away from me and smiling sweetly, Logan punched his shoulder. “Fuck off.”
“Rudy!” I nudged him. “Don’t be rude!” Logan paved a trail of kisses from my left cheek to my jaw.
