A violent shove rattled the inside of my skull. Freaking Lucien trying to sneak out. I pushed him back in and put extra locks around his mental cage.

“You all right?” Tank Man asked.

Heat boiled in my veins. My skin itched, though this time was different. Not the mate itch.

A weird restlessness buzzed through my body. Something isn’t right.

The thought had barely formed when Callum swayed and knocked into Killian, his hand flying to his temple. His twin grabbed him, alarmed.

I was beside them in a heartbeat. “C?”

“I’m cool…” He rubbed his left temple.

“You sure?”

“Probably the sandwich I ate.” Callum took a few deep draws through his mouth, clasping his chest. “I’m…I’m cool.” Except he looked sickly. Hell, his skin was corpse-gray.

“Sit down and we’ll get Doc Harris.” Killian’s voice was laced with concern.

“The hell you will! I told you I’m—” Callum paused, inhaling sharply, his eyes glazing over—

He suddenly dropped to his knees and cradled his head. “Amaia!”

“What about her?” Killian crouched beside him, hand on his back.

“She isn’t answering my mind-link!” He moaned in pain.

A deathly cold chill went through me. Amaia’s with Bunny Doc.

Lucien hit the walls of my mind so hard my vision blurred. “Not now!” I snarled at the dog.

Fear had me gasping for breath as I darted across the field. You don’t know that anything’s wrong. Maybe she just went to buy that weird grass she likes. Oh Moon Goddess, please let her be okay.

“Dad!” I shouted, pounding up the stairs. “Where’s Yvaine?”

His head whipped toward me. “Calm down, son. What happened?”

He had no idea where she was.

“Yvaine and Amaia are missing,” I heard Killian telling the guys.

Already past them, I raced into the long corridor, following the smell of honey and hazelnuts. Callum was right behind me, chasing Amaia’s scent.

“The game has to continue!” someone yelled.

“Terminator!” someone else shouted.

“Captain! The second half!”

I ignored them all. Fuck the game. Fuck wereball. Fuck Dark Diamond.

Her scent led straight to the restrooms.

“Killian.” My jaw ticked. “You’re in charge. Get back in there.”

His face tightened. “But I can only break bones! I can’t lead the—”

“I don’t give a fuck!” I slammed my shoulder into the locked door of the ladies’ restroom. It burst inward.
