“If it’s okay. I can bring dinner here tomorrow night, and then we can talk.”
“Sounds good to me.”
He pressed one more kiss to her lips. “Lock the door after me, love.”
“Okay, night.”
“Goodnight.”
Epilogue
A few weeks later, the three people got off the plane from Vegas, happy but exhausted. Beth and Jayden were surprised to find the majority of his family waiting for them in the lobby by the luggage carousel. Several of them held signs congratulating them on their marriage.
A cheer went up.
Roman rolled his eyes.
“Oh, my,” Beth said in shock.
Jayden grinned and ran to the large group, getting hugs from all of them.
Roman tightened his arm around her waist and smiled down at her.
“Welcome to the family.”
She snorted and tightened her arm that was wrapped around his waist. “I knew what I was getting into.”
“You’ll get used to them,” he said.
They took a few more steps and then were surrounded by a few dozen people.
Beth couldn’t stop smiling. Everything she’d ever wanted in the world, she was getting. She glanced up at Roman. Including another child.
She planned to tell him when they were alone later, but she thought it might have to wait because they wouldn’t be alone for a while as they visited his—no—their family.
Grandma cupped her face and kissed both cheeks before she studied her face. “You’re pregnant,” she blurted. Everyone froze, and silence descended over the group.
Beth’s mouth dropped open. “How could you tell?”
Grandma smiled gently. “You have the glow.”
Roman cupped her shoulders and turned her to face him. “Are you really pregnant, baby?” he asked in shock.
“Yes. I was going to tell you tonight when we were in our home for the first time as a married couple.” She smiled. “But this is better.”
He pulled her against his chest and held her gently in his arms. “God, baby. I love you so much.”
She felt tears sting in her eyes. “I love you, too.”
He pressed a kiss on her forehead and looked around for Jayden. “Hey, Jayden. We’re going to have a sibling for you.”
The boy whooped. “Awesome. We’re right on schedule.”
She leaned back and looked at Roman. “Schedule? You guys have a schedule?”
Roman grinned. “Yeah, but it’s nothing you have to worry about. It’s guy stuff.”
Beth chuckled and shook her head as the whole family laughed and then congratulated them some more.
She knew she’d have to get used to the two planning everything. She was just afraid they were going to gang up on her quite a bit.
She grinned and placed her hand over her stomach. She hoped they would have a girl. It would even out the odds a bit. Her smile fell as a thought raced through her head. Oh, God. What if it was another boy?
She smiled and shrugged. She’d make the best of it, and if they got out of hand, all she had to do was dance, she thought, and then grinned.
Life couldn’t get any better.
